Prima pizza passes the benchmark for what a NYC pizza should be; nice, thin crust with a good ratio of crust:sauce:cheese. It's a good pizza. You can't go wrong here. The Sicilian has a not as thick crust as the usual square slices, which I liked. It also had a very tasty, crispy bottom. While Prima is very good, it doesn't quite reach the level of NYC pizza immortality. The place IS very clean and the pizza man is very personable. The specialty pizzas in the showcase looked really good, too (all specialty pizzas are made on a "round Sicilian" crust.)

This is my go to pizzeria when I want an eggplant parm hero, meatballs, or grandma pizza....and of course always the knots! They also recently started delivering which made them even better & they are reasonably priced.

I ordered one large pepperoni pizza and a 20oz drink online at 7:00pm. At 8:15 I tried calling the store to find out why there is a delay and was on the phone waiting for 20 minutes without speaking to anyone so I hung up. I tried calling a second time and was in the phone for 13 minutes waiting for someone to answer my call so I hung up again. I decided to drive to the store ( which is 1.4 miles away ) to cancel the order. I cancelled the order and went home. When I got home, the delivery guy came at 9:40pm. (two hours and forty minutes later) I told him I cancelled and he left. I don't understand how this Dominos is in business? I'll never order from here ever again.

Years ago, this was a terrific neighborhood pizza place; now its a great upscale Italian restaurant. Prices are in-line with fine dining in a casual Queens setting, but this place never disappoints. The food is consistently generously-portioned, high quality, and always tasty. The waitstaff are attentive, but not overly responsive (viva New York!) We keep going back--its really the best food on Union Turnpike, whether you're a St.John's college student or a longstanding neighborhood resident (as are we).

We were staying in Queens in May 2008 on holiday from the UK. Big Johns was just a stone's throw away from our hotel, so I walked across and ordered two extra large pizzas to take back with me.Firstly, the pizzas were much larger than the ones we were used to in the UK. Secondly, they were much floppier which kind of felt better.The main difference was perhaps the toppings. I went for extra cheese, eggplant and spinach. The last two toppings are rarely heard of in UK pizza restaurants, so we were impressed just by the novelty value. But in terms of taste, the pizzas were cooked to perfection. Cost was approx. $60 for two x-large pizzas and a drink. I'm not sure if this place is still open but it was a very useful food stop for the locals.

There's nothing special about this place....just an average "red-sauce" Italian restaurant. The food is good but not memorable, the decor is typical "Mediterranean"....th service was very attentive...the manager/owner was extremely ;personable...the prices were fair and reasonable, the wine list extensive.

If you've never had NYC pizza, I suggest you try this first. The pizza is thin crust and comes to you piping hot, super cheesy and salty!! (Perfect pizza combo in my humble opinion) The place is small and you have to stand at the counter to order, but they move quickly and get you in and out in about 5 minutes on most days. Definitely worth a try when you're in town!

Scammers! They advertise different prices on their website but then when you order, they increase the prices. Either update the website OR honor the price that is advertised. Thereâs plenty of other pizzeria with better customer service and people skills.

We live in Las Vegas and it is hard to find New York style Italian food so when we visit we have Italian. We order things we can't get in Vegas like Baked claims which were delicious. The bread was fresh and wonderful. My husband and I both had veal francese and it did not disappoint. The only downside to this place was that it was SOOOO NOISY
