This morning my brother and sister in law were out in Duanesburg, and I looked up breakfast places in the area. Gibby's Diner was listed by Trip Advisor so we said we would make a visit. What a place. And what outstanding hash brown potatoes too. My brother had the stack of blueberry pancakes which was a huge portion and delicious. And my sister in law and I had poached eggs and eggs over easy respectively. The hash browns were the best either of us have ever had, and that's after many many breakfast visits to restaurants around the country. Service was great, and the bill for the three of us was about 25.00 considerably less than what it would have been in other restaurants in the Albany, Schenectady, and Troy area. And while the restaurant is a short drive off of Route 20, go out of your way and make Gibby's a destination.

You just can't beat their hot dogs with meat sauce. Total awesomeness! Plus excellent service. Onion rings are made from scratch, sliced thin, with just right amount of breading..Not to be missed. Fries are superb, as well. #1 lunch stop in the area

A family run Diner for the last 30+ years. Very well known in the community. Great selection of traditional American style diner food.
I wish Redwood would go back to the hot dogs they served before. The hot dogs they serve now are a lot smaller and do not have the great taste of the previous hot dogs. I will no longer be ordering hot dogs. Their breakfasts are fantastic and so are the dinners they serve. Always have plenty to eat and always have take home containers. Staff is always friendly. Its a great place to eat except for the hot dogs.

Been Greek and visiting the area you have to stop at mamas diner. That,s where you can have a nice homemade soup and meals that remind you back home when your mama used to cook for you and spending little money.Very friendly staff so you feel like home.My daughter loves this place and is close to her house so she eats there often.Go and say hello to mama from the Greek.

On our way to visit family, we decided to stop at the Duanesburg Diner for lunch. Upon entering we had second thoughts because of the age and condition of the place. However, it was busy with a lot of locals so we decided to stay. The service, food, prices, and friendly atmosphere were all to our satisfaction. However, next time, due to the condition of the place, we'll probably stop at one of the nicer appearing restaurants just before or after this one.

Established in 1953. Evan Christou is a third generation restaurant owner at this location. His grandmother's brother purchased the original "rail car" diner located at the five corners in 1953. In the mid 1960's, his father's brother, Peter Christou, bro
I havenât been to tops in years because we were served cold, frozen green beans. Tonight, I got a DoorDash order to give them a shot. Terrible idea. I got the meat loaf and crab cake dinner. It did not come cheap. The meat loaf, which is advertised as one of their specialties; was inedible. It also was not tasty. The meat was old and did not even look like beef. I threw it out. The crab cake was salty and while not as terrible, sub par. We threw the whole meal out, $44. After taxes, service and delivery charges. I may go back for their pies as they never disappoint but I canât understand serving inedible food. I feel sick and wouldnât serve that to my family. I like supporting local businesses over franchises, buying wouldnât be getting dinner again.Hi Ann, What you are describing is 100% unacceptable. We are sorry about the lack of quality that came with your Doordash order. We will look into this to ensure it does not happen again. Please email me directly at [email protected] so we can make this right. If you could mention this Trip Advisor review too that would be helpful. Thank you.

Best burgers!
The last time I had visited Chuck Wagon Diner was several years ago, and also a few owners ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was still as I remembered. It still has the ambiance of a fifties type diner, and happily, the juke box remains. The food is good, as is the service, and it is very family friendly. I definitely won't wait so long for my next visit.

Another recent visit to the Home Front Cafe in the picturesque Village of Altamont did not disappoint. A veritable museum of military reminiscence, much of it donated by local veterans, the interior decor is authentic and fascinating. We had a large family group for lunch, so a variety of choices were made from the menu. Everyone liked their food. The service was friendly and efficient. There is always a fine selection of sandwich plates and burgers, breakfast entrees and daily specials. Desserts include high quality pies and cakes. Summer afternoons and evenings also bring a delicious array of gelato and ice creams. With reasonable prices, friendly staff, and good old homestyle cooking, what more could you ask for?
