The population was 10,483 at the 2010 census. It is situated between the hamlets of Coram and Ridge, to the west and east, respectively, and Rocky Point and Yaphank to the north and south. The name derives from the fact that it lies approximately halfway between the eastern and western ends of Long Island (Montauk Point and the East River) as well as halfway between the northern and southern boundaries (the Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean).

With all the gourmet markets and specialty stores now available, Brugman's Deli is just more of what I like, a great deli where friendly people make great sandwiches and salads. The food is always fresh and the service is great. I highly recommend.

They have the best choices and best tasting marinated steaks anywhere, and gourmet chicken patties. Also a good choice of other goodies, salads, cakes and a lot more a good meat market.

My boyfriend and I wanted some good Spanish food and we know this is the place since a few of our friends say it's so good so we went to see for ourselves and we will definitely be going back it was so good and the people are friendly so worth it it satisfies the taste buds

Skimpy sandwiches. They sell "glass roses." I've seen owners swatting bugs on floor while behind counter. A single deli or gas station between Sunrise and this place would put it out of business.

I went there to pick up lunch to eat at work. I have an allergy and specifically asked that there be no cheese on my sandwich(not a special that I was asking to be changed or anything like that). After waiting an inordinate amount of time during which the owner asked me at least three times if I wanted cheese, I got my sandwich only to find cheese on it. This necessitated a trip back to the store which ate up the rest of my lunch period. If you are in a hurry this is not the place to go. When I finally got the right sandwich it was excellent but....

Although they sometimes mess up an order, they are friendly. Considering there's little competition in the area, they're pretty good. Could use a dollar taken off the price of everything.

Try getting a smile out of the guy fixing your sandwich, or prying a cigarette from the girl taking your order. Why is the iced tea and lemonade being cupped out of a cooler? Invest in a proper dispenser. Sandwiches are decent.
