The Adirondack general store just brings you back in time . In the middle of the town of Adirondack which sits on the East Side of screen river is a general store on by husband and wife at work very hard to make this quaint place a destination in my opinion. It's got the old fashion gas tanks and a lot of nostalgic paraphernalia that is reminiscent of Route 66 the mother road and certainly the ambience that doesn't let you forget that you're in the Adirondacks. It's search food has everything you want in the way of sundries and other things you would need while staying on the lake for the summer.

I drove down from Plattsburgh, on my way to New Jersey and stopped here for lunch. The whole experience was terrible. Place looked awesome from the outside. When I went inside there was no one there except the bartender. I asked if they were open for lunch. He grunted, "Yes". I sat at the bar and ordered a drink and a cheesesteak and tried to strike up a conversation. He barely said two words to me. My food took forever and remember, I was the only person there. I tried to chit chat a few times with the bartender but he was not friendly at all. I don't know if he was hung over or just grumpy but the whole experience sucked. He pretty much stayed at the far end of the bar. So strange. I have bartended, so I know how to treat my customers, whether there are 20 or just 1. Won't be going back here. I saw too many other places to try.

Italian cuisine at its best. A little pricey but well worth it. Get there early, the place fills up fast around 7:00 PM. There is a nice bar and a decent wine list to compliment an extensive menu. The servers were attentive and helpful and our entrees, veal Drake and Shrimp Scampi were fantastic. Highly recommended!

We were served a salad that was made with iceberg lettuce, I always find that disappointing. My lobster was flavorless and baked potato was undercooked and couldn't be eaten.
Spacious double-queen bed rooms & private bathroom. Sparkling pool, new full-service restaurant for lunch & dinner. In-room coffee & tea. Swing set. Pet-friendly! Near Marina for boat, kayak & canoe rentals. One mile south of I-87 Exit 28. One mile north
My husband and I took his best friend and his wife out to dinner to celebrate his friend's birthday. We decided to try out the refurbished Drake's which is now known as Trail Break!!!!We went early on a Tuesday night, around 5:15 pm, and because this restaurant had only been open a few weeks, we were the only customers for about an hour. Our waitress, Pauline, was extremely attentive as was the young man who kept our water glasses full through the meal. For those who love calamari, our friends thought it was the best they have had as an appetizer. The dinner rolls were piping hot right out of the oven. The salad crisp and chilled with a good quantity of dressing in the side. Our meals: 12oz NY strip steak, the 2"-thick pork chop, chicken marsala and the pasta Bolognese were incredibly delicious! Each plate was clear upon finishing the meal.We didn't have dessert as we were planning on brownies and ice cream at home to celebrate with.Their choice of beers on tap was good. The interior dining room was sparsely decorated but that did not detract from our meal. The bathrooms were clean, only two available, one for each sex.Everyone was friendly and helpful and attentive. Our waitress mentioned that the were dealing with opening glitches but we didn't experience any during this visit.Trail Break is not a pizza/burger joint, it is a higher class restaurant worthy of visiting while in Schroon Lake, NY.I will definitely be back again this summer!

nothing terribly inventive or novel here - just a good 'ole fashioned ADK breakfast served hot, fast and honestly by a very caring staff. all the usuals cooked beautifully - upgrade to the real maple syrup if you opt for the french toast or pancakes - worth the extra $1.75 or so. right in the heart of Schroon Lake town - enjoy !

Sticks & Stones Wood Fired Bistro & Bar located just off Interstate 87 in Schroon Lake, NY. Fireside dining inside and outside. Dog friendly patio. Featuring Adirondack Rustic ambiance with gracious local art decor. Authentic Wood Fired Neapolitan Pizza.
Had lunch here on a fairly crowded Sunday afternoon and got seated right away. The Service was fast and friendly and the pizza is absolutely outstanding. The restaurant has a very cool lodge/cabin decor. Also very reasonably priced.

Ordered the special beef tips over rice with mushrooms. Beef tips were very tough with grizzle. I left them on the side of the bowl. Overall dish was salty as well. I did not complain to waitress, but she could clearly see I did not eat it. I would try it again but order more carefully.
