We visited Japan last year and the Izakaya Mew makes us feel like we were not in the middle of Manhattan but somewhere in Japan with very tasty food and good prices. A hidden gem that is between other asian restaurants and you have to go downstairs so don’t missed it. We try sushi, ramen and noddles and steak and rice. Everything very tasty!!!

After a long day of walking around in NYC, my boyfriend and I were looking for a good restaurant serving sushi and teriyaki. We read the reviews and decided to come here. We were not disappointed! The service was very efficient as we came around 9pm but they were very professional and courteous. Would definitely come back here! Very Authentic food!

wonderful place. you will never think there is a restaurant of that quality in the basement of an office building. yet, it has a cool decor, professional staff and the food is excellent. i tired many dishes and all of them are well prepared and " tell a story". the prices are reasonable for this quality.

This restaurant served some of the freshest sushi i have had in the USA. The caveat is that there is a high price for this. Although not as trendy as NOBU, the sushi is soooo much better.

It was my first first time here. Arrived at 6pm live jazz music was playing and they had a wait. Thankfully we had reservations. Service was top notch. We enjoyed the Rosemarie Focaccia for an appetizer and both had the famous French drip. This was one of the best that I ever tasted with choice of horseradish or au jus. It was truly delicious. It was filled with plentiful roasted prime rib on a French roll. The one thing is the french fries. They were the thinnest shoestries that I tasted and really didn’t have much flavor. A truffle fry would have been a better choice if offered. You can also get cole slaw. Great place but change the fries or give an option.

We were looking for decent food outside our hotel and all we could find were fast food outlets and Irish style pubs. He fell upon this restaurant and then discovered it was Vegan. No matter. We cannot now remember what was in the dumplings but they stand out as being really delicious. the aubergine for a main course was good, my own pasta dish contained a huge amount of pasta and a coating sauce which was alright but not outstanding. The service was very pleasant and efficient. Two courses and a bottle of wine cost us just over £82.Thank you for taking the time to give us some stars. We always try to reach for the stars. We want to aim higher. We have taken your comments to our team and hope to give you a better experience in the future.

The tuna appetizer was excellent, the pork rolls were excellent, the strip steak was excellent, the snapper entree was excellent, avoid the ice dessert, all food was very tasty butthe price point and portion size left us gouged and hungry. The atmosphere was great with the 70's music and its a lovely setting. All at the table were shaking their heads at the small portion sizes of the food and the pricing was very high for the weight and size of the order. We will not return because we do not feel that this restaurant is worthy of a 2nd trip as the value involved is not worth the visit.Hello Eric, Thank you very much for your feedback. I am so sorry to hear that you were unhappy with the portions of our dishes and didn't feel the value was represented throughout your experience. If there is anything I can do to help change your mind about the restaurant, or if there are any other thoughts you would want to make me aware of from you evening with us, I am open to all thoughts. If you have a moment, please feel free to email me directly: [email protected]. I am available to jump on the phone as well if that's easier. Thank you again, and hope we can speak soon.Sincerely,Whitney
