Had to park in back of restaurant. The front entrance was not well lite where you can use the handicap ramp. To get on the ramp there was a poorly constructed incline. We were seated looking forward to our Japanese chef show. However, our chef was Latino who did not preform any tricks with knives. The soup was good, salad was very cold then came was he main meal. I had filet mug on that offered only 9 pieces of meat. My plate was the smothered in veggies with lots of soy sauce. Then came the shrimp. The flavor was cooked out of them again with soy sauce. The table behind us has this chef who said he was from Formosa He proceeded to yell and I mean yell every word thru our entire meal. Never again we we go there. It is an insult to Japanese

We were pleasantly surprised to be introduced to wild Ginger on our latest trip to Long Island. Our son highly recommended it and we all went as a family. On our latest trip we've been there so many times the staff was beginning to be suspect. The location is very clean the, restrooms are very clean and the staff was very quick and accurate. As a former residence of Hawaii were very fussy about our sushi. The quality that is served considering the price is exemplary. This is an excellent restaurant to meet family or friends or do business. It's not a very fancy restaurant where you would bring a very important business meeting or that very important first date, But if I lived there, I would be there at least once a week. There's ample parking and there's even an extra room in case there's overspill for a crowd or possibly a private group if you'd like to have a birthday gathering. I highly recommend it, give it a try!

We went there on a weeknight while we were in the area for meetings. The food was fairly good though the sushi rice didn't stick together very well. But everything was fresh and tasty. The worse part was the noise caused by so many people, sitting so closely together in a very small space.....definitely took away from the experience.
I travel for business and stopped in today after the front desk clerk at the local Residence Inn recommended Sakura for sushi. I am a FREQUENT sushi and sashimi consumer. It's not in me to slam bad restaurants, but I do like to recognize the good ones. This was excellent. My key points:Service was excellent. Very friendly staff as well.Price was excellent. I received a very good soup, very nice-fresh salad with an excellent dressing, a generous, very-fresh, nicely presented, sushi and sashimi combo (25 or 26 Piece), a large (20 plus ounce) cold Sapporo, and four fresh slices of watermelon for under $35. Sushi/Sashimi combos can be pricey and are usually the most expensive item on the menu and this was a bargain, and it was excellent quality.Other prices on the menu were also very reasonable as well.Additionally, I counted three separate couples that came in that were definitely regulars based on their first name basis with the host. Always a good sign.I'll be back.

We stumbled on this stop in ISlandia, They accommodated our 5 person party and gave us a pedestrian chefs egg toss. It culminated in a saki pouring into our mouth routine. The food was really very good and nothing really beats fresh food cooked in front of you. But, the wine they had on their menu was nowhere to be found. seriously, three wine choices resulted in three empty glasses. So the waitress brought out inferior bottles and started to open them before showing them to me. Nice.

We will definitely return to this Japanese restaurant soon. The food was mostly great, the wine excellent, the service impeccable, the ambience interesting and artistic. Both bathrooms were really special! The tempura was flawless while my friend's Bento box had two imperfect items in it: his white rice was too sticky and his chicken was too tough. Otherwise though everything else we both had was delicious. The prices were terrific. And, it is easy to access on Main Street in Smithtown (not really on One Miller Place). There is plenty of convenient free parking. We look forward to returning.

Don't expect anything, but attentive service and fresh well prepared sushi, sashimi and japanese food. Simple digs in strip mall location, but don't be fooled. It's one of the best in the category on the Island. Clean, good and perfect for lunch or dinner. Both locations are just as good and succeed perfectly in providing a great meal.
