The population was 8,498 at the 2010 census, the most populous municipality in Columbia County. The name of the town means "Children's Corner" in the language of the original Dutch settlers (Kinderhoek). The name "Kinderhook" has its root in the landing of Henry Hudson in the area around present-day Stuyvesant, where he was greeted by Native Americans with many children. With the Dutch Kinder meaning "child" and Hoeck meaning "bend" or "hook" [in the river], the name literally means "bend in the river where the children are".

We came for dinner during Greene County's Restaurant Week 2019. I'm very glad we visited this establishment as the food was phenomenal !!! Mike was our server, very attentive without being bothersome. We started with a tossed salad and sausage soup, appetizers were Meat Ball Tascas and Pepperjack Cheese Sticks. My wife and I both had the Sicilian Rollatini Eggplant w/ Pasta. Key Lime pies for dessert. Large portions and perfectly done. A definite deal for $25.00. We will be back again.

This was the place to go said a group I accompanied. We arrived at 7pm with reservations because of the group size. (12) All around us were folks ordering and being served. We finally had our order taken at 7:30, water brought to our table at 8pm, food followed shortly after that. Disorganization of management seemed to be the problem. We had a child with us and she was hungry at 7, famished at 8. Food was fine, portions overly large.

Just recently moved to the Chatham area, and have now taken out from Pizza Den several times. The first time was a bust....their Margarita pizza was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Not a typical "neopolitan style" Margarita....it was pretty bad. Then, the following times I just got their regular pies, with various toppings, i.e. meatballs, mushrooms, etc. What a difference....those pizzas were excellent. Really terrific - they could be served with pride by any pizza place in Brooklyn or Manhattan. Great crust, great sauce and cheese, excellent toppings. And very well priced.Keep in mind, this is mostly a take-out place...only a couple of small tables and not much atmosphere to speak of. But - I think if you stay away from the Margarita ...you can't go wrong with their pies..

A friend recommended the pizza here to me but I have to say that I was disappointed. The crust had a garlicy taste to it but unfortunately, it was seasoned with garlic powder, not the real thing. That was disappointing. Not likely to return again.

We usually get a margarita pizza and bottle of wine and always leave happy. Sometimes it can be alittle loud and better to sit up front.

Labella cannot be beat when it comes to Italian restaurants in this area. It's large, popular and has good service and very good food. The pizza's are excellent, and the pollo vodka pizza terrific. They offer a huge menu including smaller plates and sandwiches, so there is something for every price point and small or larger meals. They also have an extensive wine and bar menu. This is a popular place for a reason.
