I've been going here for more than 20 years. It is a family Italian eatery that we have watched grow, expand, and get better with age like a good red wine. Pizza is great, chicken garden salad is a fav along with caesar slice. The garlic knots are to die for and my kids grew up on the path dishes esp when they were young and picky.

We ordered out for dinner with family. When I picked it up the girl at the counter just stared at me and said name, not hello are you picking up, nothing. Waited a bit but in the meantime she refused to sit two people because the third person in the party was parking the car. Said it was policy that everyone had to be there to sit (there were plenty of empty seats) and the manner that she said it I personally would have left.Ordered the meatball pizza, the rapini and the Margherita as well as two calzones. Over sixty bucks which was a little steep. We served them immediately when we got home. Thought the calzones were a little watery although huge and tasty. The Magherita was a little too thin, but the other pizzas were tasty. Overall, don't think this is a place I must return to but had to try it since we pass it by all the time.

We stopped by umbertos a few weeks ago before seeing a movie /sunday â¦.We had the pizza which was excellent ...We decided to come back the following week on Saturday for a formal dinner ..it was a disaster...When we arrived it was crowded and there was no-one to take your reservation..All the workers were busy attending to their tables ..Finally a fellow came over I think he was the owner..he kept shaking my hand..When we were seated we ordered a margarita pizza which came out after 8 minutes...but I had ordered off their takeout menu the manager told me the order would be no problem-veal/milenese which is fried veal with bruschetta, onions ,olive oil,and arugala salad @balsamic oil...It took them about 40-minutes to bring my dinner-out..However they forgot to include the toppings(bruschetta,onions,olive-oil,arugala on the veal..The manager by the way took the plate back and I could see him directing the chefs /rather young on how to complete this dinner..I should mention since it was busy the manager had been serving us and he kept shaking my hand and trying to explain when something wrong+but his English was not very good...The problem seemed to be that the chefs/owner didn't know their own menu..I will add that the margarita pizza was good although when the mgr ask my lady if she wanted parmesan cheese on her pizza she said no and he gave her extra parmesan....I would say if you go to umbertos in bellmore get the pizza but for a formal dinner be careful !!!! Ive been to umbertos in newhyde park which is a first cabin restaurant....The Bellmore manager didn't even apologize for the mistakes or offer a dessertor drink on the house..amazingâ¦...

Went on a Friday nite without reservations but next time will make them. By the time we (2 couples) left, the restaurant was packed. Arrived at 6PM for a Birthday celebration dinner with friends. We each ordered something different. Got to taste my husband' s entrée of eggplant parm with lots of vegetables and side dish of linguine with (had to be) homemade sauce. So glad we took leftovers home - just as good the next day for lunch. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, topped with a basil creamy sauce and small shrimp. Very good but no accompanying salad, although the entrée itself was filling. Our friends ordered Chicken Parm and something LaStrada. They enjoyed their meal but didn't offer to share. Oh well! Neither did I! We each had a nice size wine glass of Chianti. Very good. Too full for dessert, maybe next time. Prices seemed reasonable but hey we didn't pay. Would definitely return and order something else scrumptious from their menu.
