We noticed a new restaurant for us & decided to try them for a picnic lunch to take out. It was busy the day we were there -- people seated at all the tables. But our take out order, two lamb gyro plates, came quickly. The tzatziki sauce was superb -- probably the best I've ever had. Lamb was perfectly cooked and very very plentiful -- we had three meals from each our plates. The bread was warm and yummy; the lamb was superb. They have a wide variety of Greek dessert specialities and we'll definitely try them next time. A new favorite for us! We loved it.
We are always trying new places in Utica and Hummus & Tabbouleh did not disappoint. This is authentic middle eastern food flavored differently from the traditional Lebanese fair in the area we are used to. We arrived before noon and glad we did because there were many patrons walking in after noon. The proprietor greeted us with a smile welcomed us in. The dining area, separate from the store part, is clean with simple with welcoming decor. Most of us had the lamb shawarma plates that came with humus, tabbouleh, Fries And fresh pita bread. The lamb was seasoned nicely but not overkill and very tasty. The other sides were also excellent. The portions were adequate and filling but not overly large. The proprietor takes orders alone and the food is cooked fresh by a nice woman so it takes a few minutes to get your order. Kudos to another immigrant created eatery in Utica. This place is definitely worth a try and we will most definitely return.

In 3 words: GO! GO! GO! Absolutely fantastic! There's so much to rave about, from the warm and CRISP bread that was brought to our table, to the friendly and very attentive server Michael, to the delicious and gi-normous servings! You know how fresh and home-made everything is, when your appetizer Stuffed Grape Leaves are FRESH and HOME MADE, not those skinny canned thingamajigs you so often see. The Souvlaki Plate was almost over-poweringly HUGE in portions, the meat was tender and tasty and even the accompanying vegetable mix was homemade, not frozen wanna-bes. Alas, there was no room for dessert. IF I had only not had the appetizer, but then I would have denied myself of those plump-goodnesses of grape leaves, which were also served with feta, tomato wedges and olives (and with the a fore-mentioned yummy bread!)

Finally had the opportunity to eat lunch with a friend. The modern interior decor is very clean and inviting. I ordered the Choban Salad with chicken. It was outstanding and one of the best presentations I've ever seen. The chopped vegetable salad was bursting with flavor and color. The chicken was lightly seasoned and very good. My friend ordered a lamb kabob plate and loved it. The portions were adequate and worth it. Everything is made to order fresh so don't expect your food to come out instantly. The owner/chef definitely knows his way around a kitchen. Cant wait to go back for the family style platter!

Friendly, quick service and tasty authentic food. Reasonably priced. Lots of vegetarian options too.We enjoyed being able to pick out items what we wanted on an appetizer platter. (My only mistake was not noticing that the grape leaves have meat in them.)The three of us all enjoyed our food, and two of us took doggie bags, as the portions are nice sized.Loved that the owner came around with complimentary samples of Turkish coffee. Its only a few minutes drive from the Munson Art Museum and very close to 1-90.Some outdoor seating as well.
