Reviews on Cafe food in Lake Placid, New York, United States. Maybe you're not an Olympian, but if you're looking for a top-notch winter sports destination, Lake Placid is the place for you. Try bobsledding, downhill skiing, ice climbing, speed skating or even ski jumping, or just enjoy shopping in the town's boutiques and warming up in one of the many restaurants. But Lake Placid isn't just a winter wonderland. Beautiful Adirondack State Park, which is larger than Yosemite or Yellowstone National Parks, offers year-round outdoor activities.

Yes I said spectacular!! Why? Let me tell you. Locally owned and run by strong minded women, this cafe, farm to fork, herbal, local cooperative artisan haven is in one word spectacular. A warm & welcoming setting is clear when you walk into B&V. The herb wall and local vendors wares are enticing. Wrapping my hands around a warm cup of hand made herbal tea or great locally roasted beans for my latte is sublime. Am I a bit bias.. yes, to have an options in a town that has such high expectations on their businesses and now to find a gem that offers such a variety of local product without the pretentiousness that some places fall into is in one word - SPECTACULAR. Go try it out.. its worth the effort!!!

Soulshine Bagel is my go-to place for breakfast or brunch in Lake Placid. The bagels are fresh (get there early before they sell out) and there are several options for sandwiches, all of which are good. The coffee is also very good, and the prices are reasonable. The fellow behind the counter who makes the sandwiches is also very nice and friendly.

We stopped here for lunch while touring Lake Placid. We try to only eat non processed foods, and this restaurant was perfect. From the homemade bread, to the meat prepared on site, the whole meal was satisfying and delicious. The sandwiches were tasty and filling, and the homemade soup was excellent. Our family will be returning to the area, and will eat here again.

We tried this out as a quick breakfast and because they make their bagels homemade. My husband really wanted to try the pumpernickel with the bourbon bacon cream cheese. He asked if they were fresh and was told yes, made this morning so he opted for not toasting it. His was hard and he didnât enjoy it much. I got the Ranger sandwich with eggs, bacon, tomato, and the bacon cream cheese on gluten free toasted bread. It was hearty and delicious and I enjoyed the fresh tomato with the fats on the sandwich. We walked down and ate it by the lake. Hey Von1287! I'm glad to hear you loved your ranger sandwich and was able to enjoy it down by the beautiful waterfront. I apologize for the issue with your pumpernickel bagel, it may have been an issue of over baking. I have brought this issue to the kitchen's attention and assure you this won't happen again. I hope you will stop in again next time you're in town to explore more of our menu items! Until next time, happy travels!

Don't let the plain decor fool you. This is first-rate breakfast fare. Large portions at small prices (especially the insanely cheap fresh squeezed orange juice. And if the portions are too large for you , you can always order single pancakes or single slices of French toast. The eggs scrambled with cream cheese and chives were unbelievably good, and the pancakes were the fluffiest I have ever tasted. How the single server/bus girl/cashier holds it all together is a miracle to behold. There may be a relatively short wait to get in, but it's well worth it.

My husband and I had driven 5 hours to Lake Placid; needless to say we were tired and starving. Big Mountain Deli convenient location on Main St. ALL 46 sandwich types were listed and described on a huge blackboard. Easy to see; not so easy to decide!! I devoured my huge delicious Marcy; my husband gobbled down Seward. Very pleasant helpful staff. Cozy eating area, but I think many people may just grab something to eat on the trails.Prices very reasonable; good selection of juice, water, sodas, etc. Breakfast was over when we arrived, but I am thinking that would be equally delicious. Nice work, all! Thank you.Hey SallyanneF!Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed and awesome review! Iâm so glad to hear we could be a great refuel spot for you after the long drive! We look forward to serving you more delicious food next time youâre in town, until then, happy travels!
