The empanadas are good, not great. They are a bit too heavy on the crust with too much on the ends. Also the batch I had was over-fried. Have had better empanada's off very good food truck in Manhattan. My husband and I had wanted to enjoy dinner at Maria's several times and just couldn't get in. I finally did when I scheduled lunch instead with a girlfriend. Food was terrific, nicely presented; service was attentive, the room was relaxed (although I can't speak for the dinner hour) and attractive. Hope to get back for dinner with my husband!

La fonda serves my favorite butritos! it's under side dishes on the menu. I order it with yellow rice, or else you'll get bland white rice. ive never been disappointed with my food or service. chicken is always juicy and tender. much better than moes or any chain place like that, if you're looking for authentic columbian food.

I was so impressed with the entire evening. The staff, the meal, the ambiance all came directly from Spain. Nothing was missed for sure. Each plate that arrived was just as tasty as the next. From appetizers, to entree, to dessert.

Generally we were very happy with our entree choices but the mussels were beyond their prime. Our server was friendly and our cocktails were especially good.
