Bonefish Grill

The name of this restaurant says it all. If you go there for a hamburger, you might be disappointed. They are all about fish and it’s preparation. We went there with friends and as the different selections arrived, every one seemed pleased with the quality and taste of the food. Having frequented the Bonefish Grill in Las Vegas where we lived for 14 years, it was great to see that taste and quality remained consistent for this chain here in Buffalo. Their Bang Bang Shrimp seems to be a favorite but you will not be disappointed with their other fish selections.

Red Lobster

Reviewed By Barbara L

My wife had a desire for a lobster roll, and with the Red Lobster looming into sight, we decided to see if they had one on their menu. They did (sort-of). They also had a number of small plate items which looked good so we built a meal out of those offerings: shrimp pot-stickers, lobster stuffed mushrooms, and, of course, the lobster rolls which were listed, quite honestly, as lobster and shrimp rolls. Our waitress, Rebecca M, was fast and efficient, bringing our very tasty biscuits to the table quickly, refilling our drinks almost before we asked, and taking care of us when the kitchen messed up on our order of lobster stuffed mushrooms. The pot-stickers were good and, thanks to Rebecca, arrived nice and hot. Then came the lobster and shrimp rolls which were fairly full of,,,shrimp. OK, perhaps they should have been called Shrimp With Some Lobster rolls. Rebecca informed us that our lobster stuffed mushrooms would be out in a few minutes as she didn't like the looks of the batch the kitchen turned out. It really was only minutes when out came the mushrooms, but in this batch, there were five instead of six. Back they went, then Rebecca brought them back, told us to enjoy them, and that she had another batch being made. We told her that we probably couldn't eat both these and those, and she said that she would provide us with a container to take them home .A nice touch.A word about the lobster stuffed mushrooms. They were tasty if you like lots of cheese and goo, which we do, but the "lobster" filling was pretty much overpowered by the cheese and goo to the point that the lobster filling could have been almost anything, from lobster to shrimp, to crab, to minced clams. Nice taste, not much lobster flavor. The lobster and shrimp rolls were, to our taste, confusing. The shrimp was cooked well, but the lobster had a texture more like poorly defrosted langostinos. They tasted tired,There was no spark to the sandwich, and, while edible, it was pretty disappointing in relation to what we expected from a place with Lobster in its name.Ironically, then, we liked the shrimp pot stickers, the biscuits brought before our "entrees," the cheese and mushrooms, and our waitress. The only thing we were disappointed in was the lobster.Dinner, with the above mentioned items (two lobster rolls, 2 orders of pot stickers, one order of mushrooms and two soft drinks) came to $47.25 before tip.As usual, my wife gets the credit for these reviews, but they are written by her husband, Frank, and both of us continue on our quest to find good lobster rolls.
