It was Friday night and someone said hey want to go out for a fish fry, so the group took the hook and said sure. Where are we going? To the Belleview Hotel in Cheektowaga New York, near Thruway exit 52 and Walden Galleria. While staying at the Millennium Hotel for a social event, some of our local friends brought us to the Belleview. While the place is a big old house that was probably on a stage coach stop itâs nothing fancy, but the food was great and plentiful. The odd thing is that itâs primarily a bar, a bar that serves lunch Monday through Thursday and serves a fish fry along with other dinner items on Friday 11am to 8pm only. The fish was excellent, not greasy, light and large along with several sides. While one can describe this a bar food, its really good bar food. The New England Chowder was loaded and fresh every bit as good as the French onion soup. They also serve burgers, beef on weck, open face roast beef, shimp in a basket, chicken in the basket which was also flavorful and other offerings. There are several dinner offerings such as good old fashioned spaghetti and meatballs, all sorts of fish offerings and seafood platters. I guarantee that which the place isnât fancy the food is excellent and plentiful. This is the type of place when you visit you wish you hadnât missed. But I warn you, everyone else who has discovered it will be there too, its local, itâs not overpriced and you will not go away hungry. When you travel and you ask the localâs where would you go, this is the place they would go. The wait staff is pleasant, accommodating but very busy, they do a great job. The owner will be at your table to make sure you are satisfied. Great place not far outside of Buffalo. I highly recommend it.
