Iâve eaten and many restaurants in Westchester in several Japanese we decided to try something new So weâve all met at Red Plum and ate in the main dining room not in the hibachi grill Room. I had to beef teriyaki box which included sashimi, sushi, shrimp tempura, and of course beef teriyaki. Always well prepared in the teriyaki was Prepared as I had requested. It was really quite a generous portion and very reasonably priced. I am glad yâall found the new place we will definitely return Parking on the street

Getting in the restaurant gives a pretty bad impression, between an outdated decoration and the greeting cat which denotes a Chinese cook for a Japanese restaurant. The staff lack of friendliness doesn't make it any better, and finally the abusive use of fish mousse or prawn ersatz in place of proper fish finishes the painting of very mediocre restaurant.

Great atmosphere with nice lighting, comfortable furniture and beautiful wall decorations. However, run and cooked by non-Japanese staff, their "Japanese" food tastes nothing like they do in Japan. I am Japanese and have worked in a restaurant in Japan before. The ingredients are non-Japanese. Sushi is in the fiction category. The way the fish is cut. The amount of vinegar and sugar in the rice. The method in which the rice is cooked and hand packed. Rice is non-Japanese. I would give their sushi a 1 star. Frozen edamame is warmed with a microwave and is not the fresh ones boiled. They have good Chinese food on their menu, which tastes great!
Love the lunch..Bento Box especially. Have the lunch specials Mon-Sat. They will make substitutions at no additional cost. Dinner is good too. Staff is attentive, maybe a little too much and wants to take away your tray a little too fast...even though it is not crowded. Always refills water without you having to ask.
