I read many of the reviews before I started to write this as I did before we visited the restaurant to see if I missed something initially or if I will be off base with this review. I picked this place because their menu looked a little more inventive than the other local Italian places. There were 4 of us on a Saturday night. The place is extremely loud. Everyone there was overly nice, which is fine, but our waiter kept rubbing my back every time he came to the table. Never had that happen in all my years. They may want to add " And Massage Parlor" to their name. That aside, I had the rabe egg rolls. The taste was good but the greasiness killed the dish. Can't deep fry at low temperatures! Should have baked them. I also had the risotto which is a great test to see if the chef knows what he is doing. Once again, taste was good, not great, the rice was cooked perfectly but it was sitting in a greasy mess. I was getting agita as I was eating it.My take away on this is I will not go back since everyone else at my table thought the meal was mediocre at best. I don't understand the raving reviews of others but when you look at the young crowd that goes there, I guess it makes sense. I was being generous with the stars.

Apiary is a welcome addition to Larchmont. It has a charm straight from the decor outside to the comfortable pleasant design inside. What I was impressed with were the selections, the prices and of course the flavors. The Lobster Roll was OUSTANDING! Fresh lobster, nice amount of lobster meat, juicy, meaty lobster with just the right amount of seasoning and flavor and on a really nice soft bun that didn't take over. I also had Turkey Chili which I'm not a huge fan of, BUT, Apiary does it great! Again, clean, simple yet elegant flavors and very satisfying. Can't wait to go back and sample more dishes. They also offer a nice array of food items like natural products like organic popcorn, jams, jellies, pasta, organic sodas. This is the kind of place Larchmont needs!

I come here 2x/week at least and I never/ever regret it. The store has been created with so much thought and care, the menu items really wide in variety yet healthful and, most importantly, no matter what it is it tastes good, in fact a lot better than good. Everything is fresh and scrupulously clean. The staff turnover seems to be low/nonexistent (to me that's a good sign) and the two guys that run/own it are totally engaged in their business. The place seems to do really, really well and that bodes well for me and a lot of other people that love getting food from there. It's rare that our family of four can universally be enthusiastic about one fast casual place but when I text my family that I'm going there rarely do I not get three texts back with salad or bowl orders.

Fabulously low-fi neighborhood gem, phenomenal hot veggie food, extremely delicious (Rasta Pasta, Falafel, Okra fry, carrot cake, ginger tofu stir-fry), flavorful and well priced. Specials are cooked fresh daily and you make your selection and pay for the size of your plate/takeout box. I love the owners here, so nice, great reggae tunes making me feel like I'm in Kingston or Brixton. Love it. Try it.
