We were staying overnight at the Five Towns Inn across the road for a connecting flight at JFK. Iâd read about this restaurant beforehand and thought weâd give it a try!The restaurant is nothing to look at from the outside and could easily be overlooked. Nice simple, home style decor inside with friendly efficient waiting staff. The portions here are huge so be careful of what you order. The place seemed to be busy with regulars and also quite a lot of takeaway orders were being prepared during our visit. It was freezing outside on the afternoon of our visit and the warmth indoors was appreciated. We had a nice meal here and the coconut cream pie for dessert is delicious.Would visit again if in the area. Probably a better bet than some of the other restaurants in the area around the airport.

My boyfriend who grew up in valley stream talked up Ali Baba's! So of course I had to try it. The typical gyro I do not like. Which is they take the lamb meat wrapped in a pita. Johnny actually splits open the pita and stuffs the lamb meat inside. Also he offers other sauces besides the traditional white sauce such as BBQ sauce. He always makes his gyros fresh!!!! Johnny the proprietor is so wonderful! 15 mins to him is really 45 mins! It is expected and worth the wait since his gyros are always fresh, fresh, and delicious! I am a converted gyro fan of johnnies gyros at Ali babas!
it's tough to get good Greek food around here anymore... I was so pleased to see this cute corner and try to patronize them often. Reliable 6" hand pies - braided phylo crust, suitable for serving if we have guests. I usually buy a few of them for a very moderate $3 each to serve as appetizers. the fillings are nice recipes and go very well with wine. They also have a full menu that I've never tried but as the summer arrived I see two picnic tables out front and folks (presumably for the surrounding offices) sitting in the sunshine so I'm guessing the menu food must be as good as the grab and go pies
