Things to do in Glendale
It is not often you get to revisit an old hang out with your old neighborhood friends 30-40 years later. Well we did just that a few weeks ago on a Thursday night. Our Middle Village crew lived at this place and others during the 70's and early 80's when it was the Glendale Lounge. Commonly know as The Wreck, many memories were made here and the place has been renamed to the Cooper Ale House and now Yerman's Irish Pub. Still a very friendly local joint where having a beer with friends is fun and possible. Our group of five met here and ran into two other life long friends hanging out. Thanks to the bar staff for their hospitality and making this out of town guest feel at home again. The tap beer was cold and the wings and other food hit the spot. I look forward to a return visit.
In town for a short visit and we needed coffee. We ended up having âsecond breakfastâ at Fathers and delayed our departure the next day to stop in again for breakfast. The Chorizo egg sandwich was excellent, loved the yogurt with fresh fruit as well as the hash browns. Coffee is fresh and delicious as well. Friendly service and the waitress remembered our coffee orders from the day before. A lovely find. Weâll be back!

Among the oldest and most historic bars in the country, Neirâs Tavern is located in the Woodhaven section of Queens in New York City, near the Brooklyn border. Over 180 years old, it is one of the few old drinking establishments that have been in almost c
Saw this place on a PBS piece some time back and Finally made the effort to visit it. It was wonderful. There was great history in the business and the neighborhood. The bar was filled with friendly locals a great bartender and even a great cook. She took time to see us at the bar to be sure we were enjoying our lunch. We were. I am not a city girl but the bar and the neighborhood were really nice. I look forward to going back. Oh and if you go. Sign up to support the bars effort to gain landmark status. After all it has been around since 1829. celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1929 and should be around for 2029. Nice places and people donât go out of style.

i come here occasionally, especially when they have a promotion like a Groupon. As true with other reviewers, they are kind of picky about where you sitand what you order if you have a promo. Not really a "promo friendly" restaurant...surprising since they regularly offer promos. I generally feel their service level is below average. That said, they serve above average bar food, such as wings, pizza, mussels,as well as "restaurant entrees". Generally we liked the things we ordered there.

We heard many great things about Torts. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule and only stopped for a pre dinner drinks. We loved the feel of the place. The beers were outstanding, love the glasses. We saw table opposite us having good looking bread and butter so we couldnât resist. It was delicious! We were early but it didnât matter as there were already several people enjoying the hospitality and delicious beer. Will definitely return!

Went for a family celebration recently. Our server was a total doll. Very friendly and attentive. Bartender was friendly, too. The decor was nice, but the atmosphere was s bit dull. Enjoyed lollipop chicken wings and chicken cordon bleu. Everything else was a disappointment. Large pretzels were dry and tasted of freezer burn, jaeger schnitzel also dry and tasted a bit off, potato pancake was more like a greasy knish with a faint curry taste, and apple streusel was totally bland. Overall, I wouldn't recommend the place. I really wanted it to be good, but it wasn't.

Very good looking place and good service. I was surprised by their spring burger and the delicious sweet potatoes fries. I recommend this place.

Six of us were looking for a place to eat before seeing a concert at Forest Hills Stadium on a Sunday evening, and we didn't plan in advance and make reservations, which the day of was "impossible".We luckily found Banter, as it was an excellent "choice".....we did wait about 35 minutes for a table, which is understandable given the circumstances. Melissa, our server, was very helpful, as well as gregarious, and with the kitchen's help, had our food out promptly, both appetizers and main courses. We ordered off the "Event Menu" - which is a truncated version of things they have on their normal menu. There was enough choices to meet anyone's needs. We ordered the Curry Cheese Fries and they were outstanding; and, we also got the special corned beef eggrolls, which were well liked. The mains were the Guinness and Beef Pie, which was great, and so too the Chicken Pot Pie, though some felt the Guinness dish was better.I had the Banter Signature Salad with Salmon, which was very good (well dressed and salmon cooked well). We all really enjoyed our experience there, and look forward to future visits, going to more concerts and just having a meal....

AMAZING AND DELICIOUS. Consider this place for your next gathering as they have a private room. The food was a tremendous hit. Besides having a large kids menu, the appetizers were spot on (perogin, pretzels,) I Personally had wurst sampler and it made it special to me. I chose the red pepper filled and their brat. They even had homemade desserts.Bathrooms were clean and services was efficient. Negatives. The music was a tad bit loud. But I expect that was because it was December 23rd and the guy kept up with Holiday tunes.

We started of with pisco sours and then had appetizers and entrees. The food tasted excellent, service was superb. It comes with quite a price tag though. For special occasions only.
