Years ago we used to love this place but stopped in there the other day and I just didn't like it. We had a Sicilian and a regular slice and both looked pale and the flavor was just lacking. I thought that the Sicilian really didn't have the flavor of a Sicilian slice. Sad as it used to be better. I think they need to rework the sauce recipe and cook the crust a little longer.
We stopped here for a quick slice. My husband had the chicken parm slice and I picked the Marguerita slice not realizing it was whole wheat (wished they mentioned that when I pointed to it). Well the whole wheat is horrible, has a really weird taste. Finally I gave in and got a regular slice and tossed the whole wheat one. I mentioned when I ordered the regular slice that I hadn't realized the other one was whole wheat when I ordered it and I just got a "Yep". The regular slice a little too much oil, cheese randomly covering the slice, very limp and the taste was just off. There were quite a few people coming and going and sitting in the booths but the employees were too busy chatting and watching tv to clean off anything leaving the customers coming in looking for a clean place to sit. Too many other pizza places to try then bother to return here.
Their fresh bread is amazing. I stopped in to pick up a hero roll one evening and they threw that in as well. Came back later to try the pizza. My husband enjoyed the chicken parm slice while I had a regular slice. Thought the flavor was good I just prefer the crust to be a little crisper. The slice sort of flopped when you tried to take a bite. Really enjoyed the garlic knots and they let me order just one. A number of places I have been to make you buy three or more. Very friendly employees.
We have been stopping here a little more often and I have been liking it more and more. The sauce is tasty (I have been sticking to the regular slice but they have a nice variety of choices), the right amount of cheese and a good crust, not too crisp, just right. One thing I have been noticing lately, not just here though, is that more and more pizza places are cutting their pies into 6 rather than 8 slices. I find these to be a little too big, especially if you are getting a specialty slice.

We ordered out for dinner with family. When I picked it up the girl at the counter just stared at me and said name, not hello are you picking up, nothing. Waited a bit but in the meantime she refused to sit two people because the third person in the party was parking the car. Said it was policy that everyone had to be there to sit (there were plenty of empty seats) and the manner that she said it I personally would have left.Ordered the meatball pizza, the rapini and the Margherita as well as two calzones. Over sixty bucks which was a little steep. We served them immediately when we got home. Thought the calzones were a little watery although huge and tasty. The Magherita was a little too thin, but the other pizzas were tasty. Overall, don't think this is a place I must return to but had to try it since we pass it by all the time.

I used La Piazza to cater at a party for my Son's wedding. We had 35 people in Merrick at my Sisters house. Food was very good and delivery service on-time, helpful and efficient. Especially enjoyed Veal Marsala, Chicken Picata and Cannolis. Would use again for a large gathering.

I love going to Galleria Pizza because they have a specials night and they make a great variety of pizzas . They also have Italian Ices, cannoli and for the diet conscious delicious salads. When my family goes there we always run into someone we know so you know it has to be good

Went on a Friday nite without reservations but next time will make them. By the time we (2 couples) left, the restaurant was packed. Arrived at 6PM for a Birthday celebration dinner with friends. We each ordered something different. Got to taste my husband' s entrée of eggplant parm with lots of vegetables and side dish of linguine with (had to be) homemade sauce. So glad we took leftovers home - just as good the next day for lunch. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, topped with a basil creamy sauce and small shrimp. Very good but no accompanying salad, although the entrée itself was filling. Our friends ordered Chicken Parm and something LaStrada. They enjoyed their meal but didn't offer to share. Oh well! Neither did I! We each had a nice size wine glass of Chianti. Very good. Too full for dessert, maybe next time. Prices seemed reasonable but hey we didn't pay. Would definitely return and order something else scrumptious from their menu.

We stopped by umbertos a few weeks ago before seeing a movie /sunday â¦.We had the pizza which was excellent ...We decided to come back the following week on Saturday for a formal dinner ..it was a disaster...When we arrived it was crowded and there was no-one to take your reservation..All the workers were busy attending to their tables ..Finally a fellow came over I think he was the owner..he kept shaking my hand..When we were seated we ordered a margarita pizza which came out after 8 minutes...but I had ordered off their takeout menu the manager told me the order would be no problem-veal/milenese which is fried veal with bruschetta, onions ,olive oil,and arugala salad @balsamic oil...It took them about 40-minutes to bring my dinner-out..However they forgot to include the toppings(bruschetta,onions,olive-oil,arugala on the veal..The manager by the way took the plate back and I could see him directing the chefs /rather young on how to complete this dinner..I should mention since it was busy the manager had been serving us and he kept shaking my hand and trying to explain when something wrong+but his English was not very good...The problem seemed to be that the chefs/owner didn't know their own menu..I will add that the margarita pizza was good although when the mgr ask my lady if she wanted parmesan cheese on her pizza she said no and he gave her extra parmesan....I would say if you go to umbertos in bellmore get the pizza but for a formal dinner be careful !!!! Ive been to umbertos in newhyde park which is a first cabin restaurant....The Bellmore manager didn't even apologize for the mistakes or offer a dessertor drink on the house..amazingâ¦...
