We have eaten in their restaurant in NYC which is wonderful and visited here solely on that basis. The two could not be more different with this one falling far short of the high standards of the NYC site.We had reserved a table for 4 for 7:30 on a Wednesday night and having arrived were seated outside. Despite there being tables available inside we were not given a choice of location. The outside space was cramped and exceptionally loud and there was only one fan in operation. It made the experience hugely discomforting.Service was slow and disengaged with little attempt to be friendly or engaging. The food was of a good standard but expensive with a relatively limited choice and a poor selection of fish based options which is peculiar given the location.Come 20:30hrs the restaurant became quieter but the standard of service did not improve.I wouldnât recommend, but on our experience of East Hampton restaurants to date it may merely be one of a number that fail to recognise the importance of high quality service.
We have been huge fans of the Jam Session of Jazz that has been in the Hamptons for years (originally at Bay Burger and then moved to a few different locations, the last being Paola's East) and try to attend as often as possible. We went to Paola's the first and only time it was hosted there and thoroughly enjoyed the music (probably the best we've ever heard at the Jam Session), the food, service and new location for the jazz. We opted not to order the very nice specials that Paola's created for the Jam Session, but ordered a lovely bottle of wine and wonderful antipasti items off the menu. We shared the Calamari in Padella (seared squid topped with aromatic breadcrumbs, virgin olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, served in a cast iron pan), Insalata di Barbe (roasted fresh beets with Montrachet goat cheese, toasted hazelnuts, orange segments, watercress with a hazelnut dressing), Insalata di Cavoletti (shaved Brussels sprouts, Pecorino, and shaved Granny Smith apple) and the Carciofi Alla Giudia (twice crisped artichokes in the style of the Roman Jews). All four of these appetizer dishes were OUTSTANDING and the wine we paired with them was the perfect complement (our service was excellent as well). It seems that the Jam Session isn't going on here any more, which is a terrible shame, as we thoroughly enjoyed both the music AND Paola's East. Unfortunately, we'll follow the music and dine wherever the Jam Session plays on Thursday nights in future.

Amagansett is a lovely place to have dinner. Nice vibe, nice atmosphere. Sotto Supra embodies that. Firstly, its way bigger and deeper than you would think. You can park out front & back. The menu is primarily Italian, there are twists (good ones). We went down the route of pasta & dessert. All the pastas were delicious & tasty and well presented. My daughter had the special, short rib ravioli. She loved it. All plates cleared. Desserts are good too. The caveat, this is the Hamptons. The prices are lofty enough to say its not a place for a budget sensitive dining plan. The combination of great food, great location, excellent energetic service sort of justifies that all. Afterwards have a walk thru' town and shop at some of the lovely independent stores. All round good experience.

We first called into Cittanuova for drinks at the bar after a disappointing experience with poor service in the Rowdy Hall. We liked the atmosphere and the service at the bar, so we went back for dinner the next day and again for drinks at the bar the day after. I loved their cocktail special of Empress 1908 gin and tonic. The food for dinner was very good - I chose Pasta Nero and asked if it could be prepared without garlic, which wasn't a problem. My husband chose Tagliata, a very good sliced strip steak. They also serve quartino measures of wine, which meant we could enjoy two different wines. Our server for dinner (Guiovani, I think) was excellent - friendly, helpful and he seemed to be genuinely happy in his work.I would highly recommend Cittanuova.

Although they do serve more than just pizza and hero sandwiches.. that's all I've had there. The pizza is average; will satisfy when you're in the mood for pizza. The hero sandwiches are not as satisfying. I've tried several ones, prepared even without the sauce in attempts of improving the texture ~ the bread is very mass-produced tasting, too much sauce making the sandwich soggy, the meatballs had little taste and a mushy texture.

If you want a good, solid Italian restaurant with good service and reasonable prices, this is it. I had a delicious veal Parmigiana and our companions were equally pleased with their dishes. Reservations were not accepted so you might have to wait a bit. It was worth it.

All of the food is terrific at this family-run gem that's been on Main Street in Amagansett for years. We've never been disappointed at multiple visits over the years. The bolognese sauce on any pasta is a highlight, especially the gnocchi bolognese. We will definitely return

We're celebrating our 29th year in the Hamptons Expect a casually elegant ambiance with nods to the signature items in the space such as the mosaic tiled woodburning oven. We look forward to seeing you.
Setting was lovely. Service was good. Food wasnât bad... it just wasnât great. Disappointed ! Not sure if this was just an off night or this is the norm. All 6 of us agreed, it was just o.k.
