We had lunch at Fiddlestix after a visit to Stormking. Although this is a small local eatery, I thought menu and specials had obviously been designed with care. There are lots of fun choices. When the food came the amount was incredible, given the low price and the high-quality. The people watching was also fun. With the exception of us everybody seem to know everybody else. It speaks well of a restaurant when there are lots of regulars. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

We stayed at The Inn & Spa at Beacon (had a lovely time there), and walked the few minutes to Beacon Bread Company both mornings for breakfast. Delicious pastries, huevos rancheros, wafflesâ¦.nice hot sauces availableâ¦also a nice mix of locals & visitors eating there, has a kind of âCheersâ feeling to it. Made for a great start to our days.

I visited Panera of Newburgh on Sunday, April 29th. I frequent this venue quite a bit and have always been satisfied with my service, however, today's service was very slow. I usually visit the front counter, give my order and receive a number to display on my table and easy delivery of 5 to 10 minutes. Today's delivery took 20 to 25 minutes. They probably had a new employee prepping the orders. This is very understandable. But what really annoyed me that there was no apology or explanation. When my food finally arrived I told the employee "I thought you guys forgot about me" Her only reply was "No ma'am" and walked away. I know some may think this is being picky but part of customer service is being prompt and if one fails, they should be professional enough to explain why and offer an apology.I often enjoy Panera Bread. I find a peaceful haven for bookworms and introverts, informal business meetings, etc. But I also visit Panera for the prompt service which this date lacking.

The food we ordered was very delicious. I ordered the Asian rice bowl with chicken, my wife ordered the salmon burger and our friend order coffee with french fries. This review in not so much about the food we ordered and ate. But our experience with our server.I was given water which appeared to be from tap and asked I our server if I could have a glass with ice. I never got the glass with ice.My wife asked about one of their cupcakes in particular and the server brought out the cup cake and flinged it on the table. Our friend at the beginning asked for the packets of raw sugar in the brown packets and got a jar of regular white sugar. So far our experience with our waitress has gone south and decided to eat our food as quickly as we can and leave. We did not give any gratuities to our waitress as we felt our service experience was less than expected. To think this place was recommended.

Providing artisan food and service to Beacon and beyond. Beacon Pantry features a wide variety of cut-to-order domestic and imported cheese and charcuterie. Large selection of local, Italian and hard to find French pantry items, grass-fed local meats and
Recently this wonderful spot has expanded into a gourmet market and a separate restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The market offers local and internationally produced fine cheeses, charcuterie and an expertly curated assortment of crackers, tapenades, fine chocolate, hand crafted jams and pickles and other delicacies. The owner is very knowledgeable about fine cheese and specialty foods. The restaurant serves Stumptown coffee, has a small but reliable list of Red, White and Sparkling wine offered by the glass or bottle. The menu includes an assortment of baked egg dishes, a Turkish breakfast platter, a long list of grilled or cold sandwiches, that feature specialty cheeses and ham. Their are vegetarian options, I recommend trying the grilled versions. The owner will create a cheese flight or charcuterie platter for you. These are served with sliced baguettes, the bread is chewy and salty. Ask about the daily specials that include soup and quiche. There are many dining options in Beacon, but the Pantry has good service and it is a worthy âcheeseâ destination. Glad that the owner has been able to expand and showcase her delicious food.

In dining the first impression is visual, curb appeal as a picture is worth 1000 words. See my review of Greek City to learn how a negative first impression turned positive. With Sweet Pea's it is in reverse. The logo speaks volumes a peace sign with a loose font illuding to both the 60's and this wholesome earth driven dinng eperience. I was greeted promptly and shown to a table. The meal was breakfast and I ordered the standard bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. I was asked if I wanted the house coffee or the bold coffee ... took the house should have taken the bold as the house was brown dish water .. no flavor, no aroma just dish water. So food order in I found a book of quotes and observed the decor library style. Again all supprtive of fresh, wholesome ingredients ... good food. Non-GMO all that stuff. I read the chalkboard menu already set for their lunch saw goat cheese salad. So imagine my shock and awe when my breakfast arrived with a McDonald's styled hash brown. Furthermore, when picking it up there was some residue of grease left on the plate. I must say their toast was spot on and a nice thick cut of hallah. Had I known about those hash browns I would have just ordered the toast !My expectation was good wholesome, mother earth styled food ... what I got was a processed frozen hash brown patty. Not my cup of tea.Thank you for taking the time to review Sweet Peas. We appreciate your feed back. We are a PEACE loving cafe culture and strive to provide our guests with a comfortable, welcoming environment. We are very sorry that we did not meet your expectations or that our logo and vibe gave you the perception that we are something we are not.Our coffee is ground and brewed fresh and is provided by a local coffee roaster Noble located in Goshen, NY. It is not you typical commercial grind. Our water is filtered. If our house blend did not please your pallet we would have been happy to brew another blend or offer you another beverage. We strive to provide our customers with a pleasant environment, fresh tasty food and warm hospitality. We are glad you enjoyed the toast!

It was Valentine's Day so we went for a ride to the other side of the Hudson River to explore. It was getting near lunchtime so I checked Yelp for some ideas. Every review of Hudson Street Cafe was glowing and honestly, sometimes hard to believe. Especially, when we pulled up to a tiny strip mall where it's located in an area with not much else along the way. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, no mustard, and onion rings instead of fries, my gf ordered a burger medium on brioche and it came with macaroni salad. That Cuban sandwich was Amazing and I've had them in Hispanic restaurants here and in Mexico. Roast pork (Pernil), Swiss, ham, pickles, and they didn't skimp on anything. So I know what a good one is. No gristle, fat, or skin. None of which I like. The onion rings were the real thing and not chopped formed identical onion rings, nor were they greasy. Her burger WAS medium rare. Not burnt on the outside and still mooing on the inside. Or cooked beyond recognition. It too was perfect! The macaroni salad was delicious. Some places it's mayo and overcooked macaroni. It was an excellent meal; one where you wish you could eat more, but can't eat another bite! The waitstaff is very pleasant, explaining the daily specials. Attentive without being annoying. The bathroom is clean. The kitchen organized. I can't think of one thing that wasn't A-1 quality. This place would be a goldmine with a line out of door in NYC!If I could give it 6 stars I would. Those reviews were right; it is great.Thank you so much for your review bobsonera. We love what we do and strive every day to be the kind of place we would want to eat at ourselves. So glad you came and we hope to see you again!

We went to Homespun Foods for a late afternoon meal after visiting Dia:Beacon. I had an excellent Greek salad (although it could have used more Feta cheese) and my husband had an enormous tuna salad sandwich, also excellent. Nice portion sizes and reasonable prices. It was a beautiful day, so we enjoyed eating in the courtyard behind the cafe.
