While on an 8 day motorcycle trip from Baltimore to Maine and back we spent the night in Poughkeepsie. I had read good reviews about Billy Bob's and it was a short walking distance from the hotel. Nice looking place, clean and the décor is good. They seated the 7 people in or party and it was time to dine. There were a wide variety of items ordered and everyone seemed pleased with them. I had the smoked half chicken and it was done well and tasted good. The problem we had was 2 things, the service and the dining room acoustics. The service was very slow. It took us 2 hours to have our meal. It should never take 2 hours for BBQ, it's all been smoked for several hours and basically should just be plated. I have NEVER had a BBQ meal go that long. Also the meals didn't come all out at once, some here and then some there. It's rude and inconsiderate to have people waiting at a table and there food is getting cold while they are waiting for the rest to be served. Also the waitress kept reaching over peoples plates, big no-no. My side salad came out and then my entrée 2 minutes later while everyone else was still waiting. Ordered dessert (mistake) and it took them 20 minutes to put a piece of pie on a plate. Now the acoustics...sound just bounces all over the place in the dining room. All hard surfaces with a high ceiling. It got go bad that one person in our group had to cover her ears for a bit because the of the sound volume and the sound bouncing all over the place. You need yo put in a couple of sound dampeners. Fix the service and fix the acoustics and you'll have a winner.

Good Menu with a variety of food with courteous service at reasonable prices. Menu offers many choices in all categories from appetizers , Entrees as well as desserts. Wait staff are friendly & responsive. Also there is a bar downstairs. Overall a great place to have lunch or dinner.I recommend it. We have been there twice and are likely to go back.

My girlfriend and I arrived with large appetites, and are fans of Southern BBQ. On our first visit, we had pulled pork sandwiches. Not one spic of fat! We are sick of so-called BBQ restaurants whose pulled pork sandwiches look more like sliders than sandwiches! We were so impressed that we returned the next day with another girlfriend of ours who traveled all the way from New Jersey to meet us. She, too, tried the pulled pork sandwich and was impressed! My girlfriend tried their Philly Steak sandwich, and was equally impressed, as she can spot fat from a mile away. Also, I tried the fish and chips, and found them very good. The prices for all the menu items were very reasonable. Bring a good appetite!

Mill House Brewing Company opened in the Fall of 2013. For us, it is the culmination of years of professional culinary/hospitality experience, expressive design and construction, and craft beer artistry. Located in the rehabilitated Mill House, Mill House
When I see a brew pub, I typically assume that the food will be passable pub fare. Burgers, fries, a token salad or two. This place shattered my expectations! The menu was ecclectic, yet balanced. Truffle arancini. Charcuterie. Burgers and salads that sounded creative and appetizing. Unlike many restaurants that try to be original, but instead cram too much into a dish, the creativity here was perfect. If you want a chicken sandwich, you don't have to say "hold the avocado, radishes, and kiwi/porcinini mushroom aeoli please." Instead, everything sounded harmonious, yet, fresh and original. The pork schnitzel deserves its own paragraph. Crispy on the outside, moist on the inside. Amazing mustard-crea-au jus sauce, but not smothered in it. Mustard spaetzel that has ruined me for all other spaetzel. And red cabbage that was so delicious it could have been a dish all its own!I live about an hour and 20 min from this place, and I'm already thinking of when I can return!Oh, and the beer was excellent, too!
Three of us ordered three different things. We all took home a doggy bag!Portions are very generous and the owner is very nice. She loves what she doesand it shows!

We have driven pass a few times and always very crowded. So we decided to try it. Stop for lunch and was worth it big time. The Nachos and cheese were very large with fresh ground beef and plenty of heat on the side. I had a cup of the fresh made chili and it was slamming good. The burgers are made from fresh local beef and was juicy. The food is definitely worth stopping. Now for the negatives the restaurant area is very small so it fills up quick. Thatâs only bad thing I can think of. Enjoy !!

This is the kind of place we like frequenting while traveling. We parked nearby for a bike ride, then went inside for a meal, afterward. It offered a comfortable, casual atmosphere. Service wasnât spectacular, but was still pretty good. I enjoyed a nice Shrimp & scallops combo, while my wife had a VERY sizable serving of fajitas. Both were delicious. I could see eating her often, if we lived in the area.

Sometimes it takes more than good food to make a good restaurant. Attention to detail is paramount. We made early 5:30 reservations to beat the Saturday night crowd. A very nervous and young busboy accidentally spilled water on my 16 year old granddaughter. They were about the same age. We all felt bad for him and no harm was done. It was the response of the adult staff that was bothersome. The waiter made his obvious displeasure known and his feeble attempts to clean up made the situation worse, missing some very wet spots on my granddaughter's jacket. Then it came time to order. Specials were announced and 2 of the party ordered one of the specials. Orders were taken to the chef, only to have the waiter scurry back to tell us they only had one special left! And this was before the normal dinner crowd got there. I then ordered 2 glasses of wine and asked if they were fresh. i was told they were opened the night before and they couldn't be expected to open fresh bottles. It would have been nice if they offered my granddaughter a free dessert. You decide. The food is very good.I am sure owner chef would not approve.

Stopped in for a relaxed lunch and we were not disappointed. Bartender has a good hand and the menu has enough choices for a variety of tastes. Started with the steamed clams - choice of ale or wine preparation. We had the wings, (about 8 preparation choices), and the chicken salad. Our server, Therese, was very attentive and the food preparation and presentation was excellent. Also, good Tuesday afternoon crowd for the outdoor patio. Worth a try.
