It is 91 miles (146 km) north of New York City and 59 miles (95 km) south of Albany. It became New York's first capital in 1777, and was burned by the British on October 13, 1777, after the Battles of Saratoga. In the 19th century, the city became an important transport hub after the discovery of natural cement in the region, and had both railroad and canal connections. Passenger rail service has since ceased, and many of the older buildings are part of three historic districts, such as the Stockade District uptown, the Midtown Neighborhood Broadway Corridor, and the Rondout-West Strand Historic District downtown.

So it was raining in Kingston and we were at the plaza so decided to get some Chinese food at Super Bowl. Décor is what one would expect in an average Chinese restaurant; bland and uninviting. Service is very friendly but rough around the edges. We got served the soup and the main dish almost at the same time....awkward. Food is good and very reasonably priced for lunch and dinner specials and you get the concomitant hot tea.

All of the dishes that we had are well prepared and do not suffer from too much corn starch - they are more delicately done than than most and they have a full service bar, if you are into drinking (which I am not).

This little place doesn't look like much on the outside, being tucked in a little strip mall, but trust the reviewers. (We did and it was worth it.) The Ginger Chicken Special was delightfully flavorful and we sampled several of the Thai curries as well as the traditional Chinese dishes. All were delicious.There are only a few tables for eating in, but the service was great, if you do want to sit down. Cheers!

We almost didn't go inside because of the location in town but since we had a restaurant.com voucher that we didn't want to go to waste, we went inside. I'm certainly glad we did. The inside was very nice and the staff was welcoming. We had a leisurely dinner and the owner(?) kept checking to make sure everything was ok. We had a few appetizers in addition to our entrees. We also had dessert and drinks and I thought everything was tasty and a good value for our money. They have a website so you can check out their menu ahead of time. I hope more people venture here and give this restaurant their business.

We hadn't been to the Ginza in quite a while so we took our kids the other night. Awesome, fresh food. Everything was great, from the sake to the fried rice. Our hibachi chef was fun and prepared our meal quickly with style. Their ginger sauce is not to be missed. Fresh cucumber salad and clear soup are included with your hibachi dinner. I'm looking forward to a repeat visit. I'm feeling hungry just thinking about it. We've been going here for years and the food has always been consistently excellent.

Stopped at old favorite Kyoto for dinner. Good miso soup, seaweed salad, and deep fried tofu. It was freezing out so I passed on the sushi and had the salmon teriyaki dinner. Very good and hearty. Friendly staff and good service. Great sushi but will wait till weather warms up.

Yum Yum Noodle Bar in Kingston, NY - we went there yesterday for dinner, initially only because all other restaurants with vegan options were closed. We figured out that closed stores and restaurants are a thing in the area on Tuesdays. We were positively surprised about all the vegan and gluten free options on âYum Yumâsâ menu. More than half of their delicious meals are either vegetarian or vegan, mostly gluten free, and clearly marked gf/v! Our server was very friendly, knowledgeable and fast! Since my wife mentioned that she is gluten free and Iâm not, the seitan for our very tasty shared kale salad came in a little bowl on the side, just to make sure her part was safe for her to eat. So considerate!Our whole dining experience was very positive. The food was delicious, fresh, and served with good vibes. All soy products were organic, the water was filtered and came without straws! We've been going to this buffet for years since they first opened (in the 90's?). I'm not sure exactly, but it has remained fairly consistent throughout the years as a reliable restaurant providing descent quality at an affordable price. We used to frequent this place once a week, but now it seems more like once every couple months. I guess we are just tiring of their offerings (it's still a good variety even though some of our old favorites have become less appealing to us). They seem to have a fairly high turnover in employees as to be expected, but that doesn't seem to have affected their service which to us remains respectable. Anyway, even though many dishes are less appealing today than they were years ago, we are still able to find many offerings to our liking. It's like growing old with an old friend.

To be fair, this is Kingston -- but standing on its own, the sushi was merely very good. Some of the fish was chewy and stringy - a "no-no."
