I have taken both my employees and one of our customers here. Great atmosphere. We sat in a private room with curtains. Filet Mignon was delicious. Drinks are good. Service was good.

Fine Wine . Steak . Seafood . Pasta
Had dinner there with my wife, son and his fiance. Excellent food and service. I believe the prices are reasonable. There is not much of a "Pub" atmosphere but the bar area is very nice as is the atmosphere in the restaurant, which is very close to the bar. I concur with those who order the three course dinner. It is now $35 instead of $30, so I assume the increase was recent. Still a good value.

Cool spot overlooking the river in Rochester! It was packed with people. Food was ok, but certainly not gourmet. We all had a solid meal. Beer is all Genessee (well, itâs Rochester). âNuff said! Would absolutely come here again. Be prepared to wait , itâs busy on the weekends.

I have been going to BB for the past 16 years. I have praised this restaurant in my past reviews. Today was my first big disappointment. We had a reservation for a birthday dinner. When we were seated the server asked if we were celebrating anything special and I have indicated it was my birthday. She wished me happy birthday and proceeded with the order.I requested an oyster martini which the restaurant has offered for years. The server seemed confused, and I assured her that BB makes these as I had them before. The serverâs assistant spilled our bread over the table, and then spilled water on my not-so-cheap purse and the chair while pouring it into our glasses. He didnât notice anything.Towards the end of our meal a large party arrived and was seated next to our booth. Our server lost interest in us all together. I wasnât offered a refill on my soda even though the glass was empty. Then, we received the bill but no champagne or birthday cake (it was customary of BB to offer these to us in the past years for birthdays and anniversaries). So, I asked the server if there was a reason why the table next to us celebrated a birthday with a cake while we werenât offered any. She claimed she was new and she wasnât aware. Then I reminded her that I told her personally what the occasion was when she asked us at the beginning of the evening. She changed her story into saying it was her mistake. We waited 15 minutes for the cake which was pathetic.Additionally, at the beginning of the evening I asked the server to put the points for the dinner on my VIP card, and since I didnât have it with me I would give her my name towards the end of the dinner. She didnât listen and put the points on my husbandâs card. I told her I asked specifically to put the point in my card as my husband doesnât use his and they would be lost. She informed us this would not be possible. So, I asked for the manager. She was unhappy about it.The manager fixed the points issue, but the evening was a big disappointment. Iâm giving BB 3 stars as my food was good. Otherwise, it would be one star.Thank you for reaching out regarding your disappointing experience. We would like to apologize for your disappointing birthday dinner. If you are open to sharing more with us, please consider emailing [email protected]. We would like the opportunity to make up for our mistakes!

A bit hard to find with a sign the size of a postage stamp, but find it and you will be fed and served well. Shabby chic Brooklyn hipster decor in a large industrial space. The ubercool vibe welcomes you instantly. Service was extremely warm, with a team helping out. While all this is great, it is a restaurant and we are here for the food. And Good Luck does not rely on luck to win you over. Our table of 7 shared the red lentil and the chickpea appetizers. Thought the chickpeas with the curried sweet potato were great until we taste the lentils which were amazing. Entrees are sharing size and we had a burger, the fried chicken, tenderloin special and duck. All were great, but the group thought the duck was the best. We are only in Rochester 1-2 times a year and can't wait for our next visit.

Jines has been in operation for many years and is especially well-known for its great breakfasts that feature just about anything one might want. I have tried a couple of omelettes and they were first-rate. I have also had lunch there. The various sandwiches and salads don't disappoint. On one occasion, my young nephew enjoyed a thick steak that was cooked to perfection. The waitstaff shows concern for providing good service. Prices are extremely reasonable. This is a good spot to visit in the Park Avenue area.

Went to this restaurant while on a weekend visit to Rochester and had a fantastic evening. Started at the bar while waiting for our table. Partner sampled a couple of recommended by the friendly bartender and I had a great local beer. Nice brick walls that gave it a cozy relaxed homey feel. Small bar and dining room made it intimate as well. Moved onto the dinner was really excited by some great selections on the menu. Very friendly and knowledgeable server who was attentive but not overly so. Enjoyed a delicious smoked salmon appetizer and escargot in mushroom caps. Moved to the short ribs with gnocchi and horseradish sauce for me and the mixed grill for my companion. Both were excellent. Perfectly cooked entrees and savory sides. Great evening. Would highly recommend for date night, special occaissions, or just a great meal with friends.

While visiting in Rochester, we dined out at a unique and quaint venue located in the heart of the city on Marshall Street where there is plenty of on-street parking. Literally a front-of-the-house step-up porch took us to the entryway where we encountered a greeter at a host stand. I also noticed the cozy bar on the first level to the right as the host took us upstairs â there was seating throughout the âhouseâ - we passed a room with diners, and then we were taken to an adjoining room to our 4-top table (no linen or condiments, but tableware, napkins, and water glasses) with other diners nearby. I also noticed as I looked out the back second-story window an outdoor deck with several individuals who were dining on this beautiful evening. Our server was very friendly and efficient as he took our drink order - Carmine Sour Cappelletti, Franco-Italian Collins Cocchi Americano, and a Mikkeller Windy Hill and Decaffeinated Coffee Fabricator by Joe Bean @ $3 and our food order - Buffalo Cauli Wings @ $12 brought out while we were waiting for our entrees (they were delicious and accompanied by vegan bleu cheese and celery slaw), our Entrées were brought to the table once the Buffalo Cauli Wings were consumed to include: Grilled Eggplant with carrot puree, moroccan lentils, harissa aioli @ $19; Cripsy Tofu with rhubarb barbque sauce, sweet corn succotash, grilled fennel @ $19; and Grain Bowl of wild rice salad, grilled fennel, zucchini, asparagus and smoked tofu @ $14. The entrees all comfortably portion-sized meals were attractively displayed, and deliciously made with fresh ingredients. The restroom is on the second level, well-maintained but not accessible along with the rest of the property. Our server informed us that The Owl House was celebrating its 10th anniversary and it is understandable by the number of diners we saw that evening. In summary, The Owl House is an interesting venue, unique in its setting, unique in its simplicity, unique in its menu and drink selections. I would strongly recommend making reservations as there is limited seating along with a sizeable number of clients I noticed dining at The Owl House on this Saturday evening.

We ordered four different subs here, and each one was the best we have ever had. No, these are not $5 subs, or High School fund raiser subs. They are great (big) meals on delicious rolls. We had the Godfather, Chicken Caesar, Steak (hot), and BLT. I deferred to the sandwich maker's judgement as to what to add, and told him, "We've never eaten her before. Just make it so that that we'll want to come back." We definitely will be back. We thought we would have to (and were planning to) return to Rochester to have more, but find they have a few stores in the Albany area, which we will make point of going to.

I had heard rave reviews of this spot, so when I got the chance for a free Tuesday dinner, I quickly walked downtown to this spot. First off, service was fantastic, and they quickly set me up with a few samples of local/fall beers. The Genesee Lemon Strawberry Cream Ale was fantastic, and I stuck with that. The staff was quick to make recommendations for food, and I settled on the two meat platter with pulled pork and brisket, with mac n cheese and baked beans. The platter came with a hunk of tasty cornbread, also delicious, and the sides were pretty solid. Didn't fall in love with the beans, but solidly good - the mac n cheese was excellent. The BBQ was clearly where it was at. The pulled pork was packed with flavor, with a light BBQ drizzle on top, and the brisket was thick-sliced with some jalapeños on top. So so good. Would happily come back often the next time I'm in town.
