We walked in without reservations and they told us they could accommodate us in about 5 minutes, so we had a drink at the bar and were promptly seated. Had a great waitress and enjoyed some local wine and beer, along with some salads and pizza made in the wood fired brick oven.Traveled here by boat, from the home we rented on the east side of Seneca Lake, and utilized the free town docks near the Ramada to tie up for this dinner visit. It was a short 5 - 7 minute walk to Halseyâs and we enjoyed walking through the vibrant area. We caught the tail end of the sunset as we boated back to the house, after our pleasant dining experience.

When this place opened we went frequently. Good food, good prices. Slowly it has turned 180 degrees over the years. Low quality food, big upcharges for simple sides alternatives. and carry out is always wrong or missing items which means "dealing with it" or driving back for correction.

Traveling thru town and found this place for lunch. It's a great old fashioned bar/restaurant with a great old bar and large stone fireplace in the dinning room. The food was ok, and the servise needed much to be desired, it took forever to get our second beer and there was only another large table of 10 or 12 being served at the time we were there. The menu has a good verity, and I would be willing to give it another try if I were from the area.

Kindred Fare is a Finger Lakes dining experience inspired by farmhouse cooking and spirited gatherings with family and friends. We are in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Region and right down the street from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. We have a
We made a reservation for a birthday with Opentable, and confirmed the reservation the morning of our visit. We arrived 12 minutes late and were told that they had given our table to someone else because they thought we weren't coming. Not exactly the welcome we were expecting for a birthday, and this makes me wonder why I bothered giving them my phone number. When we eventually got seated, service was very slow. One of the specials was already 86 at 6:30 pm. As for the food, it was very uneven. The homemade charcuterie and bread were below average and I would recommend against serving things you obviously don't master very well (and charging your customers for them). The rabbit shepherd's pie special was pretty good, the poutine wasn't really a poutine (fries and liquid peppery gravy with a giant lump of cheese at the bottom). The chocolate cookie with fudge arrived in a little cast iron pan but completely cold and I'm still not sure this was really a cookie.

From the outside the Red Dove looks like a low key pub that ma serve up simple burgers and pizza. However, as they say 'don't judge a book by it's cover'. Red Dove is located in an informal room (complete with pressed tin ceiling) but it's menu is imaginative and the food superb. We went right to the entrees and thoroughly enjoyed the salmon (perfectly cooked and nested on a bed of pasta in a light tomato sauce) and the veal meatballs (served in a spicy, coconut broth with peas and broccoli). There's a good wine list with many locale offerings and lots of craft beers on tap. The service was excellent and the prices fair. You can't make reservations.
I'd starve to death before I ate at another one of these fast food places. How they got the contract for the NYS Thruway is beyond me. Horrid food, small portions, and exorbitant prices! Stay away.

We were at an event at the Main Street Gallery across the street and ended the evening with a casual, relaxed dinner and conversation with friends at Warfield's. I last reviewd Warfield's four years ago and I'm pleased to report that the restaurant has maintained its excellent reputation. Our group of five was seated at a large round table with plenty of space, a very friendly and helpful attendant and quite modest ambient noise. My wife enjoyed Squash soup and a Caesar Salad and I had the Crab Cakes (the small plate offering). Reports around the table were that every dish was delightful. Our bill for two include one glass of wine and came to $39.00 plus tax and tip. Quite reasonable for a delightful ending to a nice evening.
