This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining, not from the Port Jefferson ferry. We were outside on a sunny day for lunch, and it was beautiful. The restaurant can be easily missed since it is directly off a parking lot.We each had one appetizer and a salad. I had a crab cake which was outstanding! It was fresh, made on-site by the chef, not, pre-made. Unlike other crab cay I have had, it was not filled with bread crumbs. My husband had a shrimp cocktail, 3 jumbo shrimp. We both had salads, were excellent. We are glad that you and your husband enjoyed your crab cake, shrimp cocktail, and salads! We greatly appreciate the review and hope you dine with us again.

Old Fields Restaurant

Never been disappointed by anything at Old Fields. Service is always tremendous. Food is always terrific. The difference between this restaurant is the menu, very different, which may be a plus if you the adventurous type. If not, they have a great burger. The only real issue I had was that there are items on their online menu that are not offered at all of their locations. As a steakhouse, I would say Old Fields is priced perfectly. It is priced lower than a high end steakhouse (Insignia, Paces), but still pricier than J&Rs and the like. Bottom line for me is: Great Food + Great Service = I’m going back

A lot of times when people who are trying to lose weight go out there's a limited selection of choices. Not so here, especially with the extensive egg white omelette list. They're even served with fresh fruit instead of home fires! I will definitely be back.

Made our first visit to Bliss. The food selection is good. We loved the beet salad and the wedge with outstanding home made blue cheese dressing. One salad is enough to share. The orrichette with lamp sausage and mushrooms in a creamy pesto sauce was delicious. The Oslo buck with home made pasta was huge and excellent. Enjoyed their beer selection but not enough room to try dessert. Maybe next time.

I have been to C'est Cheese several times over the past year, meeting with my friends after work for Trivia Night on Tuesdays. Before the Trivia Rounds start at 7:30 we get there around 6:30 and have wine and a cheese sandwich. The sandwiches are always tasty, especially The Dane sandwich I had a few weeks ago that had sliced pear and melted Harvati cheese in it, what a wonderful combination.Trivia is fun. The fee is $5.00 per person for 4 rounds of questions that range anywhere from TV, Movies, Music, facts about presidents, Math, Geography to the more difficult Periodic Table of Elements questions. C'est Cheese is a wonderful place to eat a light dinner, especially if one wants to have beer flights or a plate of cheese.

Best deli on Long Island and ice tea! Tough to eat the entire sandwich but you can take it home for dinner or lunch the next day. Be prepared to spend $20 on a sandwich and a large ice tea, but it’s worth it. Crowd favorite is the Gasm!!

Ruvo Restaurant East

Reviewed By ferryboaters

We visited Ruvo during Long Island Restaurant week because they listed a variety of menu offerings, unlike some restaurants where the offerings are few and predictable. We were not disappointed. From the steamed mussels appetizer, to a flounder and shrimp oreganata, to a berry crumble topped with ice cream - it was all delicious. (And the martinis and coffee were perfect, too). My review would not be complete without a tip of the hat to our server, Sadie, who was gracious and attentive. We will be going back.

After hearing good things about this place, we had to give it a try, and are glad we did! The corned beef hash my husband ordered was an enormous presentation, and excellent. The corned beef was mostly meat, not filler, and was delicious. Another in our group ordered a Benedict special of the day, which consisted of one short rib (I think) and one crab cake Benedict. I tasted the beef and it was Delicious! I was a bit disappointed in my Benedict choice, which came with sausage gravy, on a biscuit. The sausage gravy was a bit pasty and had something in it I wasn’t fond of. In fairness, I live down south now, and it is something on most menus, so I may just be partial to the taste I get in the Carolinas. Also, one of my poached eggs was overdone, and I don’t eat hard cooked yolks. I gave part of that egg to my husband. Our server, Sean, was terrific. The portions of everything are enormous. I must say, the noise level was very loud, and the room was only half full. There is a smaller room in back that seemed quieter.

We had a family dinner for seven at this lovely restaurant overlooking across from Danford's Inn in Port Jefferson. Some of our people favor a vegetarian menu and nothing that we ordered failed to please. My Pad Thai was excellent with shrimp and a few others had a meat variation on this. The vegan entrees were creative and pleasing and a growing young man who ordered the Kobe beef burger came away very happy. A roasted Brussel sprout appetizer was amazing, but I didn't think much of the seasoned fries as an appetizer, but that's just me. Excellent selection of beer and wine and my "Flying Dog Ale" ( I like to order beers with weird names)) was excellent. We'll definitely be going back.
