We open 7 Days a week for Lunch from 12pm - 2pm.
We had the worst meal, worst service and over priced. The waitress was terrible. Did not seat us, no greeting - first words were- are you paying together!!!???I had to get menus. The food at this restaurant used to be fabulous. We loved the garlic prawns and whole barramundi. Something has changed and gone very wrong. The prawns were over cooked - little garlic.I asked for bread with no butter. She said the bread came with butter- have you ever heard such rubbish. Do they now put butter on bread at the bakery???Nobody enjoyed the prawns. My friend had green curry prawns. The curry was like a soup??!!! Greasy. Tasteless. Overcooked prawns.I had my favourite whole Thai barramundi. Usually fabulous. It was tasteless. No Thai flavours - just a black sticky sauce- flavourless. The others had whole Aussie barramundi. It was blond, bland and very overcooked. We were not offered dessert or coffee. We will never return. Management need to sort the food and service out .

We make a point of visiting the ouster farm everytime we visit Port Stephens. Not only are the oysters fresh but so are the prawns. They taste like they were caught just a few minutes before we consumed them. It's a lovely spot - serene and peaceful with great views of the water. Parking is plentiful.

Open seven days for lunch and dinner over Easter, 12th - 28th April! Rick Stein at Bannisters Port Stephens is open for dinner daily and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Incredible seafood simply prepared is the hallmark of a Rick Stein kitchen. Our
After having our booking cancelled due to the restaurant being closed, we spoke with the manager about our disappointment. She was extremely obliging in rebooking us and adding some extras to make our visit very special. Service was excellent and the staff were totally on top of our arrangements. The food of course excelled, with both the fish pie and Thai chilli crab standouts. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and we will return when next in the area. Prices are not excessive for the standard of service and food.Dear cheopsfamily,Wow, thanks for the lovely feedback!Fantastic to hear and glad you enjoyed.Looking forward to welcoming you back soon.Best Regards,Pete Bacon

Newcastle & Port Stephens Game Fish club is the biggest game fish club in Australia, it boasts over 500 fishing members and 1500 social members, the club is open 7 days a week from 11am, the bistro opens for lunch and dinner 7 days a week excluding April
Went there for dinner believing it to be a restaurant... well it's more club than eatery, but sign in we did. With a name like this, I expected the most interesting and exquisite feed of fish in the area. Well, size doesn't necessarily make up for skill. The meals are enormous, and really awful. I didn't know you could turn Jewfish or Mahi Mahi into that, but it wasn't quality fish, and it wasn't cooked with any thought to the finished product. I've never had fish that dry. Locals might love it, but there's a definite need for refinement to the establishment. Won't be back.

Open for dinner Tuesday to Saturday from 5.30pm
I always have difficulty choosing from the menu but usually something will jump out and grab me but not at Sandpipers. The menu was so varied and everything sounded so delicious I just could not decide. We ended up sharing a couple of entrees that were stunning. The crab arancini was delicate and deliciously yummy and the Aloo Chop was sensational. It tasted just like a samosa but without the heavy pastry just breadcrumbs. Total opposites of each other. My partner had tagliatelle with lobster in a tomato sauce with a little chilli on the side. He said it was awesome. I opted for the barramundi and salad which was cooked perfectly. There were so many different things to choose from. The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the bill very reasonable. Definitely recommend this restaurant and will certainly be back to try some other dishes
