Things to do in Cobar
We were greeted by very friendly staff on a busy Friday night with lots of families eating out. The menu was extensive and reasonably priced. The seafood platter was nicely presented and tasted delicious. The chicken caesar salad albeit delicious seemed like a deconstructed chicken schnitzel on a salad. Overall good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Vince's is situated in the Cobar Memorial Services and Bowling Club. Our family of 6 signed in and made our way to the sterile dining room, where we were greeted and seated. The menu comprised various dishes under the headings, Chinese, Thai, Malaysian and Australian. Descriptions were scant, and our waiter could not answer our questions about the dishes. We each ordered a dish from each style of cooking, starting with deep fried wontons, which tasted predominantly of old oil, rather than the filling, which we could not identify. The most tasty dish was the Mia Siam noodles (Malaysian), and the least favourite was the parmigiana (Australian). The other meals were average.Whilst the service was friendly enough, our meals were not served at the same time, which I would consider a basic kitchen competency. The food arrived one dish at a time over the space of 10-15 minutes. There appeared to be 3 waiting staff rostered on and through the doorway to the kitchen we could see numerous kitchen staff. It was not terribly busy in the dining room - there were two other tables - and we could not see significant takeaway orders coming out of the kitchen.I think a narrower menu, together with a description of each dish, would result in greater overall efficiencies and a better dining and service experience for customers.

As I was staying across the road it was recommended an easy place for dinner to walk to was the Memorial Services Club. I enjoyed the Satay Chicken with special fried rice. The menu is extensive and there's something to please everyone. A nice touch was the tray of slices on the bar with plates and serviettes provided. There are also pokies for those who wish to indulge.

Very welcoming wait staff ushered us to our table, drinks ordered and menus provided. Sufficient time to decide, orders taken and meals provided in good time. Excellent lamb cutlets, fish and chicken. Desserts were a treat
We stopped for Coffee and Cake as we had walked the town for about 2 hours. The service was friendly and quick and the coffee and cake delicious, we also ate in a lovely outdoor area, I would highly recommend this shop and the prices were very reasonable as well.

We had dinner here not knowing anything about it, apart that it has the longest pub verandah in Australia. Plenty on the menu to choose from and we ordered at the counter. Meals didnt take long and they were excellent. Loved my Barramundi, mash and salad. Good sized meals and great tasting. It was a cold night but we were toasty warm inside. Great meals!
