Based on high TA ratings we pre-booked this small but popular caffe for an early dinner. Our food choices were well cooked traditional pasta and meat dishes and the support of locals was obvious, including take-away service. By Sydney pricing standards the food was very good value and overall we had a very good experience.

My friend spoke highly of this place therefore I was expecting a delicious dinner. It was a Saturday night and we needed a table for two.I was happy that we didn't need to wait for a table. We shared a large bench type table with another couple which we we were happy to do. Firstly we attempted to order a bottle of wine from the tall, tanned male waiter with brown hair. I didn't see a name badge and he didn't introduce himself so I'm sorry I can't give you his name. Anyway he just advised us to wait. So we did and the waitress came and took our order for the bottle of wine. That was fine and she was polite. But she brought 2 glasses and poured. No taste was offered but hey its not fine dining so that's not a big problem. We took a bottle of pinot grigio. It was nice but not very chilled. So I asked that same male waiter to bring me a glass of ice with a spoon. I even specified that I needed a spoon for the ice as I just knew that he would not take the initiative to offer it. He arrived with the glass of ice and yes, you guessed it, without the spoon. So I asked for the spoon again. He smiled and duly brought it, which was great. Honestly the wine tasted MUCH better now that it was chilled with the ice. We enjoyed our wine and then ordered a Vesuvio pizza. The toppings are pomodoro, mozzarella, mushrooms, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. The pizza arrived. On first look it seemed fine. I had the first slice,it didn't taste great but I said nothing and continued eating. My friend then took a slice. It was soggy. I was far too hungry to wait for another pizza,so I just ate around it and left some bits of the pizza on the plate. The same male waiter came to collect the plates. My friend informed him that we did not enjoy the pizza because it was soggy. He just said OK. So my friend repeated that he wanted the waiter to tell the chef that he did not enjoy the pizza. And the waiter said yes and left our table. We continued with our wine and then the same male waiter, whose name I wish I knew came and put his around the top of the water cup and said as he was lifting it, do you mind if I clear these. His hand was now on the second cup and my friend said actually it would be better not to take them as we are still drinking from them. So he then put the water cups back down on the table after having his hands around the top where we place our mouths. We asked for the bill and my friend went up to pay. As we were leaving, he told the dark haired lady behind the counter that we didn't enjoy our visit today as the pizza was soggy and the service just was not good. She was not a waitress. I believe she either worked in the kitchen or else she's a manageress. Her response was oh you should have told earlier and we could have done something about it. My fruend was shocked as he had clearly told the waiter twice that the pizza was not good. And this waiter had not bothered to pass on our feedback to the kitchen. I'm very fair, as you will see in my past reviews. But to be honest the service was so disappointing that I felt like I had to write. I come to Sydney once or twice a month with work. And I'm always on the lookout for a dimecent place for dinner. When I find one, I tend to stick with them for most visits. And I can honestly day that I would not rush back here unless they drastically improve their service.

Lucio Pizzeria, founded and owned by Chef Lucio De Falco, brings the traditional taste of Naples to Sydney. We are a proud member of the AVPN.
Wow what an amazing authentic Italian pizzeria. From start to finish the service was excellent and the food. Well we had no complaints. Tasty fresh ingredients. Definitely worth a visit. We went early about 630pm as it soon got busy and people were queuing for a table. We ate calamari, meatballs, lucio special and the calzone.

Set on the Manly Wharf where the ferry docks this restaurant is in a splendid position and many seats and tables have excellent views to Sydney Harbour and the beach next to the wharf. Staff were pleasant though food arrived slowly suggesting the kitchen was struggling. Still my oysters were utterly splendid while the crispy skin barramundi was perhaps overcooked. The sweet potato and ginger mash had no taste of anything except sweet potato and the brown sauce did nothing for the fish. Other courses chosen by my husband were certainly generous and I gather the battered fish of the fish and chips was excellent. The starter of meat balls in a tomato sauce was like a main meal so starter prices were barely less than those for mains. And the martini was ridiculously expensive. $190+ for two courses, two glasses of wine and two cocktails is steep in anyoneâs money for this food.

I stayed in the area and got pizza and a salad to go a couple of times. Both were delicious. Portions were bigger than expected. I would recommend.
