We decided that we would try Kimono for that something different.We started with a shared platter which we found was a great way to test the "product"They had a happy hour from 4 to 6 with the Sapporo on tap at $6.00 and wines also quite reasonable.Jumbo prawn sushi was next on the list followed by Chicken Kasaage.All in all a satisfying experience.The staff were very nice and always checked to see if we were happy with each course.Certainly will be returning as we also enjoyed the atmosphere.

Dont believe the negative ratings.When you read that the prawns were soggy, I mean, that is such a silly description by someone who eats at Macas. I often eat chinese and found the food as good as anywhere in Aust. Give it a try. You wont be dissapointed.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch of warm prawn, feta cheese, avocado and salad. So yummy! My husband enjoyed a medium rare rump steak and salad â¦. all cooked to perfection. The staff were so very welcoming, friendly and happy. A wonderful place to refresh after a busy day sightseeing in pretty Sawtell!

Have tried this buffet in the past and itâs not too bad although thereâs a smallish selection but itâs a chance to pig out if desired.Most of the usual Chinese suspects for small buffets were there like mini spring rolls, battered fish cocktails, those gougee thingoâs, chicken and corn soup, omelette, honey chicken, curried chicken, a beef dish, a pork dish, fried rice of course and maybe one or two others that I canât recall.Plus a couple of desserts and some fruit.I didnât do a total pig out but came close I suppose with the fish cocktails. For me, very moore-ish.Most things were tasty however I would have liked something a bit spicy.I usually pop in here when back in Sawtell and will probably be back again next year.

Restaurant only opened a few days. We had 2 entrees and a main to share.2 glasses of wine and a reasonable bill of $56.00Enjoyed the entrees of Panko Prawns and Karage with Japanese Mayo..Main meal of Teriyaki Salmon was served with additional rice, salad, seaweed, tempura and a most beautiful Miso Soup.A nice touch, was the chef visiting individual tables to ensure that things were going along well.The service was quick, efficient and friendly.
