I took some local colleagues here on their recommendation and boy where they embarrassed! We decided to simplify our food choice and order the $85 Tasting Banquet, the meals were ok but the quantity was poor, if I was to pay $40 I might not have felt ripped off as that is all it was worth. The most annoying thing was that we were seated outside with the restaurant knowing that the outdoor heaters weren’t working, the reason I knew this was because they had scarfs on hand for patrons, have you ever tried eating with chopsticks whilst shivering? Not the standard we expected!Thank you for your feedback, David. We have blankets on hand for our outdoor diners as an extra measure against the cold and are not a supplement for the outdoor heaters which are in working order. Should you not be happy with your seating or wish a heater to be turned on please inform one of our attendants, as we will always attempt to address any issue brought to our attention. We hope you'll give us another go in the future.

Asa-Don

The quirky layout and mismatched furniture doesn’t detract from the excellent fare in this cosy Japanese eatery, always popular and not just with Uni students past and present; The staff are friendly and helpful, all ingredients are fresh and served in a from-the-heart home-style of cooking. No frozen prawns here.Owner and head chef is Asako who runs the kitchen with a minimum of fuss and a dab hand. The quite basic menu still manages to cover a lot of ground – several excellent dishes of Teriyaki, Katsu, Tempura and the Miso soup is fresh cooked daily with plenty of subtle flavours.Go to dishes are Teriyaki Salmon, Chicken Katsu and the TempuraWith this style of cooking and value for money prices the biggest problem is that one tends to eat too much. Ah well, maybe next time one dish less.
