We accidentally found this place whilst passing through Sutherland. It had a lovely setting and excellent customer service. We just ordered the lunchtime special of vegetable laska (best ever) and prawn pad thai (also one of the best). A very inexpensive lunch came to $22 for both but the food was excellent. Definitely on our list of favorites for next time we pass through. It also felt like authentic Thailand.
Okay, so I usually eat out in Sydney’s Inner suburbs where competition is fierce. If I didn’t have the experience of eating Thai food elsewhere- including Thailand- I may have loved this place. The service was excellent and if my review was based solely on the staff it would be rated 5 stars. However I found the main dishes lacking flavour other than chilli. We ordered Fish cakes and curry puffs for entree and they were standard offerings. I enjoyed them. For mains we had fish in a garlic sauce- okay; bbq chicken- okay; and stir fry chicken with basil. This was the dish that really let the team down. There were about 4 Basil leaves in the entire dish and much more chilli. The sauce for this and the fish dish had thickener in them- unnecessary. And too much onion. Now as we drive home my fellow diner is experiencing side effects usually experienced after ingesting MSG... so perhaps MSG is used here. By all means, if you’re not fussy or spoilt go here as the staff are phenomenal- but be warned: the food is only average.

Food was excellent however the seating is a nightmare and very very noisy. Staff refused to relocate us outside even though it was almost empty outdoors and had several tables prepared to fit all eight of us. They were all free and had no bookings but they simply didn’t want to relocate us
In need of quick dinner when neither of us could be bothered cooking and this was a relatively new local - so why not?!Tiny cash-only premises in a busy thoroughfare, with a fairly straight forward Thai menu, but the food was very very good. Quick, and super-efficient order staff, and, something I really like, being able to see into the kitchen from the front of the premises, so you can see what goes on. Not expensive, but be warned cash only! Nearest ATM is at the servo around around the corner. Have been back several times for takeaway and the flavours are very impressive, I think. Personally I wouldn't plan on eating there - a couple of tables outside which for me are too close to the passing traffic (very close), but handy for waiting for your takeaway order! PS excellent coffee next door too !!
We tried this local eat when first opened and were not too happy, however new owners have made this great. Really nice, fresh thai and priced well so can enjoy mid-week aswell.Great local, will definately be back.Family friendly :)
Popped in here and grabbed some take away. Previously we had been driving to another suburb to get our Thai. Very good and will be back.
Love this place! Great food. Only a take away, but we go there weekly. Food is much more authentic tasting that some of the other local Thai restaurants.. They do get very busy though especially on Saturday so order over the phone in advance. If you simply drop in you might be waiting 40 minutes

Thai never tasted so real. The flavours come alive in each dish. It's a real experience for your taste buds. Great menu. Super staff.

Had not been to Raya Thai for a few years but glad we went back with a group of friends for a Xmas get together. The service and food was very good. The fact that the owners provide Karaoke entertainment, with no financial gain (as this is a BYO Restaurant), adds to the quality of the experience as the place stays open as long as patrons are partaking in the sing-a-long. Well done Harry and your team

Dined at Yakoo several times now..with friends and partner but it’s so loud and the bales are very close together and you can hear everyone’s conversations even if you don’t want to!Food is pretty ordinary and small servings. Would recommend Rays Thai over this one any day.Staff aren’t friendly and do what they HAVE to do...won’t be in a hurry to return.
