This is a really good Lebanese restaurant, authentic, tasty and fresh. It is located just down the street from the Belvoir Theatre and great for a pre-show meal, however its a short walk up a really steep hill to the theatre. Not great if you have a fully belly of food!

We went here for our last meal in Australia. It did not disappoint. The food was fresh and tasty and the wait wasn't ridiculous (like most other places in Bondi). I had my first turmeric latte -- pretty good stuff. Would recommend to anyone staying in Bondi. The service is really good, the lines aren't ridiculous, and the food is super quality.Hi Thank you for the kind words and lovely review! We work very hard to give our customer the highest quality experience, and it is great to know you recognize and appreciate our efforts. I will make sure to let the team know. Hope to see you soon at The Nine ;)

I don’t like leaving bad reviews and so I thought a lot about doing this, but having had a couple of experiences lately where the great reviews don’t match the experience, I don’t understand the positive reviews for this restaurant. I had dinner here with my friends, one of the entree pastas was on the much too chewy side of al dente, the prawns were on the verge of not being fresh; the fish was ok but the Jerusalem artichokes it was served with were rubbery on the outside and slightly slimy on the inside - they tasted like they had been reheated several times. The duck was grey and over cooked. The dessert list was unappetising so none of us ordered any. The service was overbearing, and the restaurant itself was too brightly lit. It was terribly overpriced for what was significantly below average food. The nicest thing was the outside entrance, which was pretty. We had tried to eat there a few times before and it was fully booked, and the night they had a table available the restaurant filled up so it seems pretty popular, but I really don’t understand why.Thank you for your feedback Aussie 11.I am sorry you have had some recent bad experiences, apparently including your meal at Lucio’s.As you mentioned the majority reviews of our restaurant have been great, and for good reason. Our hard working staff in the kitchen and on the floor are in this industry and in our restaurant to bring the best experience possible to all of our guests. Your review is so very disappointing for all of us.Your criticism of our food is completely at odds with current diner’s comments and our commitment to freshness & quality, but of course mistakes can happen. Our staff would have been more than happy to replace or offer an alternative to any dish, however it would seem in this instance there was very little you were happy with. For that we are sorry but ultimately it is clear we are not the restaurant for you and we wish you happier dining elsewhere.RegardsSally Galletto

Have been here so many times over the years but this latest visit was a little disappointing. Menu has reduced items on it. No more Basturma????? And food portions have definitely reduced. Haven’t seen the same staff for a while so I wonder if the ownership has changed. Food was ok but not up to previous standard. Kafta dish had three meatballs. Main chicken dish had one piece fairly dry chicken. The roasted cauliflower and the lamb main are still the go to dishes here. Won’t be running back.

I was lucky enough to attend a third birthday dinner for Bibo Wine Bar this week. Not only do they have a highly original and unique selection of fabulous wines but these pair so effortlessly with their delicious food menu. Everything is a perfect match.Dinner was a selection of share plates starting with entree style smoked salmon pâté, the incredibly delicious scallop cru & finger lime, runner bean fitters, and the piri piri aubergine and the mouth watering Flambé chorizo. This was followed by the equally mouth watering main size Suckling Pig with Fennel, persimmon & pomegranate. We finished this with a quince & bergamot tart followed my mini Portuguese tarts straight out of the oven. All of this was with matching wines by the glass perfectly chosen from Portugal to Australia. All in all this was a wonderful evening. I would highly recommend Bibo Wine Bar for anything from a special dinner for two to a large group booking for a celebration. Either way you will be looked after and will have a truly special dinning experience.

Shuk

Relaxed cafe/restaurant specialising in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine by chefs from all throughout the world.

We were visiting from England, our daughter lives just around the corner from Shuk brought us here for a coffee after walking her dog in the morning. I got served pretty quickly with a takeaway coffee and called back later for another coffee and a cake. They have a very appealing range of cakes. The day before we left for home we called in for a bit of brunch. I had the hummus and slow cooked lamb which was absolutely delicious. My wife had a sandwich which came in a wrap rather than thick chunks of bread which she too enjoyed. The staff are all very pleasant and the french girl who took we paid on our way out was especially nice. This place doesn't have a huge lot of competition in the immediate vicinity but it would do well wherever it was situated. It has lots going for it. No wonder people hang around waiting for a table at busy periods. I wish I'd heard about Shakshuka before I got back to England!Hi Gareth, Thank you so much for this amazing review!! We really appreciate your kind words and will pass it on to the team ;) We are looking forward to seeing you next time you'll visit Sydney!Best regards.

Just came back from Hanoi Vietnam and really felt like greek food which was non existent in beautiful down town old and French quarter Hanoi. So nice that souvlaki country was able to deliver same excellent service and absolutely divine greek souvlaki plus cooked food that Maria organises on a daily base. Had the best vegetable oven baked meal with feta and the usual souvlaki to die for on wholemeal pitta bread. Need I say more... love the food ,love the service, and that says a lot for an eastern suburbs foodie.

They could benefit from a great manager that can instil some really good service principles in the wait and bar staff (1/5).Also had issues with a final bill - they added a compulsory gratuity.Overall disappointing. The Bondi restaurant scene is constantly changing, but the Tratt remains a reliable local favourite. After the most recent facelift it’s cooler and more expensive than before. But the prices are still reasonable, the service is high standard, and the food ranges from good to very good. If in doubt, the pizzas and pasta never disappoint. Thanks for your kind words. We took over the Tratt just over two years ago now and we did give it a little facelift, but we wanted the space to continue being relaxed, but professional and overall welcoming. Somewhere for a fancy date night, somewhere for a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine, somewhere for a breezy breakfast, and many things in between. We make pasta in house now, and the sourdough culture for our pizzas is two years strong now too. We hope we're not too cool though! Thanks again, we look forward to welcoming you again soon at the Tratt.
