Reviews on Cafe food in Blue Mountains, New South Wales, Australia. The Blue Mountains are named for the delicate azure haze that lingers along the region, which is actually a fine cloud of oil emitted by eucalyptus trees. The mystical mountains are a labyrinth of plateaus, gorges and gum trees. Check out the Katoomba Scenic Railway (the steepest railway in the world), the Jenolan Caves and the Giant Staircase nature walk.

This cafe used to be a great place to go, nestled in the valley with wildlife walking around much to the delight of guests. I went there on several occasions for work functions and with friends and the food was always very good. However it turned into a vegan cafe with no advance warning. The menu has declined as they only cater for a minority group. As I have health issues and there are a lot of things that I canât eat I cannot go there. Lithgow has lost a cafe that used to be well populated. The owners would have been better advised to offer a wider variety on the menu including food that catered for all instead of limiting themselves to a minority group. I wonât be returning and do not recommend itThanks so much for taking the time to post your review! We changed the menu back in 2015, almost 4 years ago now! We published the change on our website and social media, we also held a menu launch and promoted this to local news. We did this to align our menu with our values of conservation and wildlife preservation. You may not know that cutting back on your meat and dairy consumption is the single biggest thing you can do to cut back on your carbon footprint, save water and essentially help to save whole ecosystems. If you always appreciated the animals that live here, surely you also appreciate these values as well. Interestingly, the feedback has always been that we NOW cater to a wider variety of people than we did before. We now cater for guests with dairy and egg allergies, vegans, vegetarians. In fact, everyone can eat vegetables! As always, we also cater for any additional allergies and intolerances but we have never met a human that is an obligate carnivore. We have been busier than ever before since the change and continue to get busier, as more people start to realise that the future of food is plant based! Thanks again for visiting. -Tenille

Recently moved our premise to a much more inviting space. We still have our Hole in the Wall servery window for your convenience. Our restuarant area is an amazing space sure to make you feel very comfortable and welcome. Perfect for large functions. Now
We made a small detour into the town of Lithgow on the recommendation of a friend, to sample The Tin Shed. The friendly staff directed us to the garden at the rear where we could take our dog and after perusing the menu we decided that we just had to stay for lunch. What a find this place is. My husband ordered the goat curry and I ordered the Spanish seafood soup. Both were worthy of a 5 star restaurant. We sat in the sun and enjoyed every mouthful. We live in the Blue Mountains so we'll definitely be back. The only suggestion (which explains the 4 star rating instead of 5) is that the garden area could be spruced up a little although the whole place definitely had plenty of rustic charm. Thank you to staff and chef, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

Walked around looking for breakfast and found this little gem which looked like it was full of locals. The breakfast didnât disappoint and large. Bacon and eggs with 4 large rashes of bacon and eggs done perfectly. Plenty of toast to go with eggs and bacon. Great find and highly recommended.

Historic tearooms set amidst the stunning sandstone escarpments of the upper Blue Mountains. Breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee, scones and cakes served every day.
Few cafes in the Blue Mountains can surpass this unpretentious, cosy rural cafe for food quality, freshness, value and service. The quality of Tearoom scones, pies and soups beats most other Sydney cafes hands-down. Loved the serious tea selection and decent teapot too. Have never found an equal to their sublime Blackberry Jam. Sit indoors by the cosy fire or outdoors overlooking farmland and watching the sheep, both are just perfect. Enjoy the drive from Blackheath, it's spectacular!

Popped in for breakfast with half an hour before train to Sydney and stayed for 90 minutes, which could easily have been stretched further. Wonderful hearty and tasty food, dappled sunlight, welcoming staff and a playlist which chimed with the experience. Brilliant. An hour reading and drinking excellent coffee. May never return but would like to.

A charming French style cafe just one minute from the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. A little slice of Paris in the heart of the beautiful Blue Mountains.
Visited here for lunch after driving up from Sydney for the weekend. The cafe was very busy with locals (always a good indicator of quality) and the staff seemed to know their regular customers. Food was french themed and delicious. The only issue we had was that they forgot my partners Tea and we didnât get it until we had nearly finished out food. They gave us an Eiffel Tower shaped biscuit to compensate.

Headed here after reading all the positive reviews as well as recommend by another local traveler. Itâs a very small busy cafe off Katoomba Street and limited seating. We were greeted with a warm smile and seated straight away. The food was amazing as well as the service. As we are traveling today so we thought we would try the big brekkie. Oh my, it should be called the biggest ever brekkie. It was enough for two people to share, however we both plough through it like troopers. Payment is only by cash. Highly recommend.
