Best American restaurants nearby. Discover the best American food in Roswell. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for American restaurants near you.. Known mostly through myths about aliens and UFOs, there's more to Roswell than mystery and innuendo. No matter what your interests: archaeological and historical sites, special and sporting events, museums, arts and culture, Roswell is a great place for a weekend jaunt. More than anything, the area offers a multitude of outdoor activities, from bird watching and fishing at the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge to swimming and boating at Bottomless Lakes State Park. Families will love the Spring River Park and Zoo, which features a special fishing lake for children, exotic animals and an antique carousel. There's plenty to do inside as well. The Roswell Museum and Art Center will appeal to anyone with an interest in Southwestern painters like Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth. History enthusiasts will enjoy the Historical Center of Southeast New Mexico, a grand house filled with area antiques, artifacts and a changing gallery of historical exhibits. Of course a visit to Roswell would not be complete without a stop at the International UFO Museum and Research Center, where you can find out what really happened when "something" crashed near Roswell in 1947 or maybe not.

IHOP is really pushing the pancakes right now, so of course we got some. My husband and I ordered the 2 by 2 by 2. 2 pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 sausage or bacon. Ordered eggs over medium, they weren't quite there, bacon good but pancakes dry. Husband order another 2 pancakes and he said those weren't as dry as our 1st batch. Food did show up fast, the waitress was even surprised it got to our table so fast. The reason I know this is because she walked by and said boy, your food is here already, that was fast.

Walked into an empty reception desk...the hostess was bussing tables. When she showed up,we asked for a booth, which she had to bus before seating us.Cushions were split and uncomfortable. We waited and again the hostess came and got our drink order. After waiting a few more minutes with no server in sight I asked for the manager. I suggested possibly she could find someone to take our order. She was quite courteous and took the order herself. The food came in a timely manner but main course was delivered before salad was finished,The server was attentive and friendly.Meal was typical Red Lobster: slightly overpriced and fair tasting.Overall impression: when you sell meals that price as high as $35.00 per, the hostess shouldn't be doing three jobs;there should be people crawling all over to help you. The seating areas should present better than tattered and tornThis wasn't our first trip here, but could very well be our last. Postscript: they used to offer a vets discount;now it's for active service only.(What have you done for me lately ?)

This is a chain restaurant but they have a location in Roswell, NM.
Nice décor, friendly staff, outstanding ribs. The brisket was decent but not spectacular but those ribs were incredible. wouldn't call myself a rib expert per se, but we do eat them every once in a while and these ribs were amazing. Strangely also, my kids loved the side salad so much they ordered a second one. wouldn't think that a rib place has the most amazing salad but it's true...

Our church men's group choose a different restaurant each month for our meeting and this month it was back to Billy Rays. We always get great service and the food is very tasty. Can't beat their green chile cheese burger or their Reuben with green chile. They always give you a choice of a cup of one of their soups with the meal. Occasionally I will just order a bowl of their soup.

Our family stopped in after driving all day. The staff was friendly and efficient but the kitchen was slow. The food was just okay and desperately needed salt/pepper/spices. It was just plain cooking. It was like cracker barrel light. We didn't go hungry and was decent but I wouldn't return.

Stopped in here after our City tour with Dennis Balthaser. Dennis provided a 15% discount coupon, so we thought we'd give it a try. It was around 3:30-4:00 pm. We had hoped to try out some local wine and get a bite to eat. There were no lunch or dinner options available at that time of the day, so we ordered two wine flights (three glasses each). The wine available on the flights was VERY limited, which was a disappointment. However, we did find some that worked for us--one of which was St.Clair, which was a NM winery, we think. There were mostly local folks in the Winery, or so it seemed. The server was okay....mostly busy chatting with local folks and others who knew each other. The atmosphere was okay. We did order a bread basket and a cheese, olive, nut snack plate. Although it was fun to find a "local" winery, we wouldn't return.

Peppers Grill & Bar, known to the locals as "Peppers," has been operating for nearly 30 years. We have built a solid reputation on our outstanding guest service standards, our fresh handmade food, and our friendly atmosphere.
This was our second visit in about a month. The first one was a combo of semi pleasant to semi disastrous .This time it was just plain sad. We walked in just before the dinner hour and were seated immediately, There were menus on the table so we began looking them over. Every so often I looked around to see if someone was going to acknowledge our presence and possibly take a drink order or offer some water. After 10 minutes or so we left the table and notified the hostesses that we could be ignored at a better place than this, told them what table we had been hidden at and left. We've eaten here before and I believe left a review. Never again.Draw your own conclusions.Thank you for taking the time to alert us of your recent experience at Peppers. What you described in regards to the service received does not match our standards what so ever. For that, we sincerely apologize. Your comments will be passed along to all wait staff to ensure improvement. Thanks again for leaving us this feedback. We hope to get another chance to impress you in the future.

We asked our Hotel front desk for a recommendation on a steakhouse, and without hesitation she said "Cattle Baron". We are glad we listened! We were seated promptly upon arrival, and were immediately greeted by our waiter, Matt. Matt was a joy, very friendly, and certainly knows his stuff! He gave us a rundown on the nightly specials and took our order quickly. The food was outstanding! I had their steak special, a 10 ounce sirloin with a chili molasses glaze, and a baked sweet potato. The steak was done perfectly, and was as tender as a baby's "you-know-what"! The sweet potato was perfectly cooked and full of flavor as well. My wife had the soup and salad bar. Matt said it was the restaurant's pride and joy, and we agree - it was something to be proud of! So MANY different offerings, all very fresh and filling! We only wish we had left some room for dessert! If/when we ever get back to ROW, the Cattle Baron will be on our "must-visit" list!

Oh my goodness...this place is a MUST! I really hate to tell you about it because it's a hard to get into spot since everyone LOVES the food here! Typically you don't wait for restaurant spots in Roswell, but this place is small, so be prepared for a wait (not too long usually). I don't know where to even start...BREAKFAST is my favorite! The french toast is like no other. The sausage? Amazing! You'll dream of it! Breakfast burritos are delicious. Staff is neat. TIP: Check out the bathroom!
