You won't find funky rolls and all the bells and whistles you'll find at new-age sushi restaurants here. These guys use quality products and give you well-portioned dishes. Offers a wide variety of food (more than just sushi) and it also can't hurt that these guys have been in business for about 20 years now in the SAME location! This is traditional Japanese food, and you won't regret this establishment. Grew up in the area and have been coming here for about as long as they've been in business....don't miss out!

We have been coming here for about 8 years and we love the place. The sushi is excellent, the Udon Noodles excellent, and the service good. One of the best picks in Livingston!

Chinese & Japanese cuisine : family owned since 1997. Casual dining for small or large groups. Family friendly, BYOB
Enjoyable atmosphere with attentive service. Wide selection of Chinese and Japanese options. Portion sizes are ample; the cold sesame noodle appetizer was quite tasty and could have been a meal in itself. Good basic dumplings and bean cake wedges. Tofu home style entree was equally generous in size, though not as flavorful.

We gave this place another try since our friends were raving about it. I went up to the sushi bar to ask if they had toro. They looked at me like I had two heads. This is a place to come to get mediocre rolls. I would never order sushi here. Friendly service and BYO makes this place palatable at best.Plenty of other choices for much better food.

A small neighborhood Japanese restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Primarily a sushi place where ingredients are always fresh tasting but also known for being one of the few restaurants in the area as offering Pan-Asian food. For appetizers, try the shrimp shumai, steamed/salted edamame or the baby octopus. The seafood miso soup is nice and spicy. In addition to the standard sushi rolls, they offer so many other special rolls that it can be overwhelming to look through all the pages on the menu but you can't really go wrong with any choice. I just went recently with the wife and kids and got appetizers, entrees and desserts and the total bill was $70. Not bad for 4 people to have 3 courses. It is BYO.

Let me start by saying this is a very casual counter service restaurant with cafeteria style service and tables. This is not a sit down waiter service restaurant. It is a Kosher restaurant as well, which means it is closed on Saturday.Jerusalem Restaurant has consistently been excellent for as long as I have been going there (over 20 years). If you are interested in Mediterranean style food, they have it all. Chumus, babaganoosh, every type of salad you could think of. What I love about the place are their dinner plates, that allow you to choose any three items behind the counter. Food is clearly prepared fresh, and every day the variety switches up just enough to keep you interested week after week to return. I would say I eat here at least once a week, sometimes more. For those of you interested in Pizza, they have very unusual vegetarian pizzas, for example, Pepperoni, Sausage and onion, Taco pie, Baked ziti pie, stuffed crust, and many more. There is also a fish selection each day and always a small sushi bar, producing decent sushi on the smaller side. (I would not come here for the sushi, but it certainly is not bad, its just not a sushi restaurant). Favorite Dishes: Jerusalem plate (5 different Mediterranean salads and falafel balls and a couple of pita breads), enough to share. I am also a huge fan of the teriyaki salmon.

First time here for dinner. The menu does not offer much outside of sushi and sashimi however, the sushi rolls are outstanding. They have so many unusual and innovative creations that you want to try all of them. You will find ingredients and combinations here that you won't find anywhere else. Also try the giant shrimp Tempura. For dessert, they have Moshi ice cream as well as traditional deep-fried ice cream that they serve on a bed of cocoa crispies and smothered with whipped cream and a cherry on top. All of this may not be authentic Japanese cuisine but it's a nice change to see a restaurant push the envelope and offer more than just the traditional fair that you would expect to find at every other sushi place.

I have been coming here whenever I need to drive from East Hanover to Montclair. The staff here seem enthusiastic about giving you a good dining experience. Service is also fast. I had uni sushi (sea urchin) this time. It's market price, but it is sooooo good!
