If you want a place where the locals eat, this is the place. This is a small restaurant where there are lots of dishes of food displayed behind the glass window and has a Spanish Caribbean flair. They had white rice, yellow rice, black beans and rice, and lots of varieties of chicken, pork and beef. Great tasting food. Very casual atmosphere where you select your beverages from a cooler that had many choices and they had a freezer full of frozen dessert items. Three adults ate for less than $25 and we had plenty of food.

Well deserved rating. Was not expecting much from a lunch salad, but was surprised with my grilled chicken salad and my wifeâs grill shrimp salad. We were full but ask to see the dessert menu. Wow my wife loved her chocolate/hazelnut cake. My choice of pistachio cake was outstanding

I told that this place was small but oh boy it is crowded as well. The service is speedy and the dishes keep coming out from a small window. The chairs are back to back to the next table. Either you're thin or you'll rub someone on your way to sit down to your table. Also not too many tables or Windows The flavor is good and authentic. But I really like to experience a little bit more than just the person next to me. I rather call, order and take out.Parking is tough and street metered. Located on a historic street of Paterson. Not the best one or fancies but it is definitely old
I've been hearing about this "fabulous Spanish restaurant" for some time. I visited this establishment after our last snow storm for a takeout order. The establishment is very plain, simple and it appears to be very clean with ample parking. I believe they have a liquor license with a bar area. Their main business appears to be takeout and deliveries. I asked the individual taking my order to give me their most popular appetizer and two of their signature main dishes. The appetizer they recommended was diced potatoes in some yellow sauce and a hard boiled egg. The main dishes were a sliced stake over French fries and white rice, the other was half a chicken over brown rice. The meal didn't have "ANY DISTINCTIVE FLAVOR". Being Spanish and always enjoy a GOOD Spanish meal, I doubt that I will ever visit this establishment again.

I have been here many times. I am a gringo that knows his Peruvian food. I had very good experiences here in the past, but was a bit embarrassed by my last experience. We brought some guests and travelled far to get there. We talked up the place and were very disappointed to receive overcooked dishes. The anticuchos and lomo saltado were so overcooked and dry. They were tough to eat! The saving grace was that the cabrito was delicious. The Alfajore cookies are awesome!

We had a great time getting our fill of sangria, beef and seafood. The Flan was excellent.Pricey, but huge portions. The pitcher of sangria was $31 but it is very tasty.I thought the seafood was a better choice. One of us had the paella and the other a jumbo shrimp dish. Both were very generous with lots of lobster and jumbo shrimp, and the yellow rice that both were cooked in was extremely flavorful and moist. The 2 guys both had the filet mignon. It was cooked as ordered and it was huge. We each ate about half. It was very good, and moist, however it wasnât a knockout. I guess for $51 bucks I expected it to be a home run. It wasnât. The table over from us had the prime rib. It looked amazing. Next time!

La Hacienda had been our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area --- until the renovation. We were anxiously awaiting its reopening and finally got there this past Tuesday. We were seated quickly and server came right over with the menus and asked about drinks, which was fine. However, when we looked at the menu, we could hardly read it. It had a black background with the smallest grey printing I have ever seen on a menu. I could barely read it, and my wife had to borrow my glasses to see it, and she has excellent eyesight. The food itself was tasty, but luke warm at best. My wife had enchiladas, while I had the chimichangas, which I don't think were made in house, but pre-made and just warmed up. Also, don't sit on the bar side of the restaurant: it was extremely noisy! We literally almost had to shout at each other and we were at a two person table! Will we give La Hacienda another try? YES, because we think it was the best in the area, and hope the disappointment from this visit was just a one timer
