The Octopusâs Garden has been serving fresh, local seafood in an elegant environment since 1977. While weâve expanded our menu over the years, weâve never wavered from our commitment to flavorful ingredients, from-scratch preparation, and beautiful presen
We went with our family and found that it was overpriced and the portions small.Iordered scallops and received 5 scallops with a baked potato and coleslaw. It came with salad and bread. The salad was small and not enough bread for 10 people. The food was good, but they raised their prices too high. We won't be back.Sorry for your disappointment Vincent. We use only the freshest and best ingredients which do cost a little more. Our scallops are U-10 Day-Boat Scallops fresh from Barnegat Light. Also although the salad you received on Easter was complementary, there are larger salads on the menu. I apologize for your server not realizing you desired more bread because there is no limit to that.

Old Causeway is always a family favorite restaurant. The steakhouse burger is a favorite. The oysters are fresh and a nice variety. The fries are delicious. Thin shoestring fries sprinkled with parmesan garlic- yum. Service is usually good but the restaurant does get crowded and a wait especially on weekends and during the summer.

Used to love this place. But now they charge you 50 cent for each piece of small bread you ask for. Really? 50 cents for bread! What's next extra for Italian dressing? Ordered salmon came with a spoonful of potatoes and that's all. Looked naked on the plate. And the waitress could care less, rude and seemed bothered we were there. Won't be back any time soon. Never the same waitress twice. You

Finally had a chance to stop in and try this restaurant, and we were very pleasantly surprised! Being right on Barnegat Bay, you can't beat the view. After being greeted at the door, we were very promptly seated, even though it was crowded on a summer evening. Our waitress was one of the friendliest most engaging that we have ever met. The food was excellent, with very large portions, and a variety to suit many different tastes. We will definitely be back!

Not my first visit but haven't been here in awhile. I took my daughter for dinner on Saturday night. We started out with a banana pudding and chocolate cherry martinis which were both fabulous. I love the crackers and breadsticks with cheese dip that they serve immediately. For entrees we chose the cola rub ribeye and rack of lamb both cooked medium rare with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Everything was perfectly cooked tender and juicy. The rack of lamb was a 9 rib rack seasoned just right. It had cabernet sauce but I also asked for mint jelly. The rib eye was melt in your mouth. The mealcomes with hot rolls and butter. For dessertwe had the tiramasu- delicious. Canât wait to go back.

Not exactly easy to find, but they pack them in. My wife and I split the baked crabcake dinner. I am not a huge crabcake fan and these, to me, were good at best. But the sides of coleslaw and potato were great. Service and atmosphere were great.

We stopped on a drive back from the shore. First stop was a walk through their fish market (Skippers). Fish looked underwhelming, shrimp were farmed, crab claws and lobster tails frozen BUT, the oysters and clams looked great. We went out to the "shack" and ordered oysters and clams. Oysters were from Virginia, probably James River. Fresh, plump, creamy but flat. None of the brininess that I crave. $8.99 per dozen and nothing wrong just nothing to come back too. On the clams, I ordered middlenecks and probably should have gone a size up but they were absolutely delicious, incredibly fresh. I would stop again for a few dozen clams at $6.99 per dozen. Platters looked just ok. Lots of fried stuff.

Greeted warmly, seated quickly, and enjoyed a fine meal: nightly special chicken with artichokes, olives, and tomato over spagetti. My wife had a very nice, and substantial eggplant parmigiana. Very nice meal. BYOB, though they have a local winery's offering of wines for sale. Great service, crisp, well dressed simple salad, all done in a quiet, pleasantly simple room. Very nice dinner.
