Still my favorite (and only) go-to sushi spot! Freshest fish, most creative dishes, friendliest service. Some menu highlights: Mexican Sushi Pizza - Fried naan bread topped with rice, guacamole and raw tuna; Tuna Tower - layers of edamame, avocado, apple, and a TON of seasoned raw tuna - it's an entree in itself! My kids love the sushilupa. And don't miss the teas. My favorite is the honey green iced tea, but I also love the red tea. Tempura ice cream is a family fave to finish things off. All this, and the prices are still the most reasonable of all the sushi places in our area. If you're eating sushi anywhere else, you're paying way too much AND missing out on the best sushi in the NY metropolitan area.

I went back here again and stand by just about everything I said before. I did the all-you-can-eat ($22 on weekends) and was thrilled with the service, variety, quickness, and everything about my sushi. Again, kani salad was great, tempura was good, gyoza was delicious. Last time I said the sushi was mediocre but I take that back -- it was FANTASTIC this time.My boyfriend I had 8 rolls by the time the night was done (we were hungry!) and we really liked them all, with the exception of an eh eel avocado roll. The spicy tuna crunch, California, and Philadelphia were all good and standard. The fancy rolls were where they really stepped it up! DELICIOUS, large, so-quickly-made, and fresh fancy rolls. We loved the one with one with lobster/mango, the one with fried shrimp was great, the volcano roll was good, and we got the prime rib one just to try...a little strange but delicious!! All in all, this is making me hungry for it just typing and I can't wait to go back! We'd do even more of the fancy rolls next time and not bother with the standards. Service and decor was great, too. It's BYOB.After the meal, we managed to save some room for ice cream and were SO GLAD we did! I absolutely loved both my red bean ice cream and my boyfriend's vanilla -- we had second helpings. It was delicious. We will definitely go back and I can't wait to.For the person complaining about not sharing -- obviously, when one person orders a buffet-style meal and another person doesn't, you can't share. That's completely ludicrous and unfair to the restaurant. They had every right to watch your table and ask you not to share. Completely reasonable.

There is no other restaurant like Magic Grill! On one hand, the place is disgustingly dirty, ugly and unkept. On the other hand, the food is delicious, unique and inexpensive. It is always packed with people so you know everything is fresh. Part of the allure of this restaurant is the risk one takes eating here (as strange as that may seem).

I highly recommend this place for great food, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. The place looks like an old little diner but don't let the way it looks outside deceive you. This place serves excellent food at very reasonable prices.Their staff is always so friendly whether you are a regular or a first timer. If you want really good Thai food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed!

Ate dinner here on a Saturday night. Started with traditional green salads and the white house dressing was a nice creamy alternative to the standard ginger dressing. We shared a tuna sushi pizza for an appetizer, which was lighter than other sushi pizzas we have eaten. This sushi pizza had good slices of tuna, drizzled with a spicy mayo sauce, but the slices were a little flimsy. This is due to the fact that rice was held together by thin rice paper, compared to other restaurants that use a "pancake" or tempura fried crust. Although a little tougher to eat, I preferred the non-fried aspect and it did not bloat when eating. After that, we shared 5 different rolls. In addition to the "standard" rolls, they have several different rolls on their standard menu. They also have a "special book" of various sushi rolls that appears to be recommendations from other diner - written in different handwriting. Our favorite was a tuna and avocado roll with seared scallop on top -- delicious! They had hibachi and noodle / soup options but we decided on the sushi.

My original reason for coming this way was to go to a Greek restaurant, but as I walked by it was completely empty. So, I decided to walk around and find a more happening spot, which is how I found Mizu. The restaurant was fairly full, the atmosphere cozy, and staff friendly and welcoming. I was seated right away and given a beverage immediately, as well as my order taken. Since I ordered cooked rolls, I expected my food to take a bit longer. So I ordered a miso soup and a guacamole shrimp while I waited. The miso was super good and just what I needed on this cold day. The guacamole shrimp was amazing!!! I almost ordered another dish and said forget the main, but didnât want to look greedy. The roll came and was cooked perfectly. They were a bit bigger in diameter than I am used to, but so what..the more the merrier!! The rolls are priced on point, so I got more than my money worth. I was completely full with what I ordered and it all cost less than 25$, which is almost unheard of at a sushi spot. If you are anywhere near Cranford, pay this place a visit. The food, atmosphere and customer service are well worth it. Enjoy!!!

we recently hosted a birthday celebration for my husband and because of the timing around a holiday weekend I wanted to make the food âeasyâ to serve.I went to see the owner at Avenue East a few weeks before my party and he gave me their catering menu which was about 4 pages long.We narrowed down our choices on various sushi, hot appetizers and 4 entrees. I placed the order 4-5 days before the party, and set a delivery time.At exactly the time I requested, the food arrived hot and ready to pop in the oven to stay warm and the sushi went right into the fridge. The sushi was nicely plated so I just left it as delivered and put out the wasabi, ginger and dipping sauce in bowls. They also sent more than enough chop sticks. We later brought out the entrees, although to be honest everyone was pretty well satiated from the sushi and hot appetizers! Live and learn about food portioning!Everything was delicious and I could relax and really enjoy the party!Iâm sure they will be getting some new customers soon- everyone was very impressed with the food and asking which restaurant we ordered from and we were happy to share the name and address!Thank you!
