I was staying at the Doubletree across Broad Street and looking for a place to have dinner, saw this on Google Maps and went in without a reservation. They found me a table off in a corner--it must have been around 6 PM. Operating on the theory that nobody does lamb better than the Greeks, I ordered the Arni Paidakia. Blew me away. It's ridiculous to rate a restaurant on one visit, but I have no idea when I'll be in Philly again, and these lamb chops have to be given proper tribute. The young fellow who took and brought my order was also above reproach.Even at this hour it was pretty full and rather loud, but I don't think it would have interfered with conversation, had I not been alone.I don't know when, but I'll be back.

Three of us recently had dinner here on a Saturday night. Reservations were made online and we were eagerly anticipating this meal, being Morimoto fans and having read so many positive reviews of this restaurant. It did not disappoint! We were promptly seated at our reservation time by a friendly hostess and appreciated the interesting decor with the ever changing colors and sense of waves with the architecture. As appetizers we chose the wagyu dumplings and whitefish carpaccio, both were amazing. Two of us had the duck entree and the other had the black cod. Again these were two of the better preparations of these items that we've ever had. Desserts were all on the money with the tea cake being a standout. We also had a few cocktails and those maintained the overall high quality.Service was exceptional throughout the meal.Go here, spend some money and have a fantastic memorable dinner! One tip, keep your eyes open as it's kind of hard to notice the restaurant from the street.

We arrived early on Monday at 11:30 for lunch. Front of place sells seafood & no one in there or supervising. Quick hands could have relieved them of some crab legs Took time to find someone who was working but finally a woman emerged who was our waitress. She was very pleasant. Maybe they just aren't used to such early guests and I hope we just caught them unprepared. The soup special of lobster bisque was served lukewarm & thick as pudding. Oysters Rockefeller were dreadful! Cheese (not hollandaise) was baked & hard on I guess over an oyster ( couldn't taste or tell) that had trace of onion, spinach & not fully cooked bacon underneath. Place was empty & cold which may explain why the food cooled considerably before making it to our table. Fried combo platter wasn't that good either. My husband got the only edible thing, chicken wings & fries. Which was literally fried chicken wings ( no sauce) & fries. At least they gave us a bottle of hot sauce. Bloody Mary was good . Will never return!!!!!

Riverwinds Restaurant

Having heard raves reviews from friends regarding this restaurant, we took our chances on a late Sunday afternoon. We had a problem finding the actual site but after finally finding our way through the winding lanes, we were quite pleased—right on the scenic Delaware across from the Philadelphia Airport. The elegantly decorated restaurant was full—indoors and outdoors. The indoor dining room noise level was almost deafening so we opted for the outside veranda on this beautiful, but very warm evening. While waiting for our dinner, we were entertained by a soloist with accompaniment and the arriving planes--within minutes of each other, that strangely enough were barely heard. For dinner, we shared a rather large tomato caprese as a starter. My crab cake was full of lump crab meat. My companion’s crabby delight was a mélange of seafood. We enjoyed both. The upcharge on the wine was steep but our Sauvignon blanc was worth it. All topped off by sharing a slice of key lime pie for dessert. The restaurant had adequate parking despite the crowd that evening. Try it--you’ll like it.

We made the trek across the Walt Whitman Bridge to Collingswood to try out this great little spot. When you walked in it almost feels like you’re in somebody’s club basement, but the energy is absolutely fantastic. Our server was wonderful, friendly, funny, and professional. The food was without exception fresh and delicious. I recommend any of the sushi, but don’t miss the Friday oysters or steamed clams. BYOB is an added bonus. This was just a fantastic experience all around

Grabbe's Seafood Restaurant

We had occasion to drop into a local establishment called Grabbe's Seafood Restaurant. The place has been there for decades and the interior shows signs of that, but it is clean and well taken care of all the same. We grabbed one of the booth's and were handed their menu. Not very extensive, but what we saw we liked. I ordered the Crab Balls (insert adult joke here) and we decided to also order the Crab Soup and share a pound of the U-Peel Steamed Shrimp. Our waitress (I believe that she is also the bartender) had the personality of a stone, but she was fairly quick and efficient. The food soup arrived and we dug in. I was expecting better things but was sadly disappointed. I should have read the menu closer. Crab "Soup." Not Chowder. It was thin and tasteless. It was loaded with well cooked vegetables and lots of crab, but had absolutely no taste whatsoever. Soon after the appetizer and shrimp arrived. The Crab Balls were mini baked crab cakes that were deliciously cooked and flavorful. Thank goodness. The Steamed Shrimp were some of the best shrimp I have ever tasted. I mean it. The best. Perfectly steamed, tender and juicy. The only complaint I have is the Cocktail Sauce. Watery and tasteless. We were given horseradish for the Oyster Crackers and had a bottle of Ketchup on the table so we made our own. Only ordered soft drinks, so we were a little surprised to receive a $44 bill. The food was "mostly good" but it's a little expensive. We probably will not return, but it's a great place for numerous offerings of crab "anything" cooked any way and the shrimp are terrific. My suggestion. Go to the Seafood shop in back and buy your own and take it home to cook it in your own kitchen with your own recipe. It will save you time and money.

Max's Seafood Cafe

Run, I'm serious, run to get a meal here. We started our meal with mussels. My husband had the spicy red sauced mussels and I had the Thai mussels ... why did I wait so long to try these??? Succulent mussels that were a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy ... so, so flavorful. I had to force myself not to eat an entire bread basket sopping up that yummy broth. Entrees were a halibut special over risotto for him and perfectly cooked flounder francaise for me. My meal was served over wasabi mashed potatoes (at my request) and asparagus. Our server was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. If I had one negative comment is would be to encourage Max's to serve a crustier bread; what was served was a hoagie roll.
