A nice family friendly diner, very traditional inside, pretty good and varied range of food on the menu, including specials, the breakfast pancakes are excellent. The desserts are very good.
You won't find this place unless you know your way around the senior developments of Monroe. Spiro & Angies is located in Pondview Plaza off Union Valley Road. My first impression was the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. The menu selection is diner fare plus breakfast, lunch and dinner specials all at reasonable prices. The service is prompt and the food tasty. The beef gyro is highly recommended. Hours: 8am to 8pm Mon-Sat. Cash only.

Not a month goes by where I indulge in this establishments superb Cream Chipped Beef for breakfast. I prefer mine 'Philly Style' with chipped beef on my potatoes, toast on the side. Sometimes for lunch I will have the appetizer 'Waitress Special' which includes Chicken Fingers, Fries, Onion Rings, Mozzarella Sticks, Jalapeno Peppers and Potato Skins, all for under $9 and for two people, that is a meal in itself. The soups are homemade and I have never been disappointed as some 'cream based' soups tend to have a burned taste after sitting. Not here. The atmosphere is basic but friendly, as one would expect from a diner that has been in business since the 1930's, and not over-decorated and gaudy as a few other diners in the Hightstown area. Plenty of parking, and do come with an appetite, as the portions are good-sized, and well worth checking out.

3 business associates and myself went for lunch at 130 we were seated right away, finally a waitress came to our table to ask for drinks 1 coke 2 waters 10 minutes later we had our drinks, simple enough we had a short stack of pancakes and eggs with toast and potatoes and a chopped steak. My friends salad halfway through noticed a large hair, pancakes were cold and eggs are eggs, the server was nasty and on top of that upon reviewing bill at home noticed i was overcharged on the entire bill.Skip this place

Looking for somewhere else to eat, we wandered down Route 130. The diner got great reviews so we went to experience the food, atmosphere and service. The place was immaculate and colorful with the red, white and blue bank seats. The waiter was friendly and informative. So whatâs the problem you say. Itâs the food.My calves liver was so under cooked that one piece was raw. Cooked properly, calves liver is delicious. The other two pieces were cooked better but not perfect. The vegetables were cooked and seasoned correctly. The potatoes were not tasty at all. It almost tasted liked they can from a box. The onions and mushrooms were limited and the amount of wine used to sauté was excessive based on taste. My wife ordered the meatloaf which is her favorite dish at a diner. It too lacked flavor. The vegetables and mashed potatoes were the same. When it came time for dessert, the waiter informed us that many selected items on the menu were not available. My wife asked for yellow cake and they told us they didnât have any. Yet, when we paid the bill at the counter, there was the yellow cake with white icing. What??My advice is there many other diners in NJ. This one needs better management to survive.

Nothing bad, nothing spectacular, just decent food, large portions, good service, reasonable prices. They have a variety of daily lunch specials that include soup and pudding in the $8 range. A better choice than fast food joints, especially if you want to sit down and be taken care of.

We recently stopped in this beautiful old town and decided to have lunch there. "Teddys" caught our eye, it is a quaint old-fashioned luncheonette; offering a great variety of food choices, daily luncheon specials and excellent service. They do not mind customizing your order and the food is excellent. The homemade daily soups (bean soup and chicken soup) and their coleslaw were exceptional. I ordered a crab cake caesar salad, the crab cakes were light and tasty. My daughter-in-law had a delicious customized hamburger and loved the onion rings she ordered, french fries and coleslaw. My granddaughter enjoyed her gyro. We will definitively stop there again when our travels take us through Cranbury.
