This is a fun, energetic place with good food and good service. It is BYOB so the cost isn't bad. I especially enjoyed the Gnocchi, skirt steak, calamari, and the creme brûlée trio. I would recommend this place for family or friends outings. Order a bunch of plates and share them the cooking is good here.

This new cafe is exactly what Ho Ho Kus needs. The decor inside is beautiful and very trendy. I have been here a handful of times and have ordered the avo toast, street corn, and watermelon/feta salad. Everything was good, but not spectacular. The avo toast is what I would recommend because it comes with a side arugula salad. Also, the smoothies are great.The cafe has potential to be something great, but has a few things they need to improve upon. They are a bit inconsistent. The same dish was made different each time I ordered it. Even though it was not busy any of the times I visited, sometimes the wait would be minimal and others it would take a half hour. I've also never seen the same employee working twice. Each time I enter it's a new person. They write their orders down on Post-It's.I feel once they find their groove and improve productivity, Alt Eats will be extremely successful in the area it's in. I'm definitely giving the benefit of the doubt because of its newness, and I will visit a couple more times.

We celebrated our dear friendâs Birthday. The food was good. The service was sub par. Our waiter when asked what came with the Veal chop special responded â assorted vegetables and other itemsâ whatever that means. The service was non-existent, we had to wait to get someone to meet our eyes to get pepper. For an established restaurant with a reputation for great food, to have such poor standards for service is very disappointing. It doesnât encourage a return visit.

We have been going to this restaurant for over 6 years it was formerly Janice's bistro but when she left her husband who worked on the floor it became just Janice!!! Too funny ,Thankfully Janice is at the stoves and the restaurant is consistently great

We had been to this restaurant a few times before and our previous experience was good. This time not so much there were 6 of us and only two really liked their meals. Service was also slow.
