It is the county seat of Hunterdon County. Most of the borough is in the Amwell Valley (a low-lying area of the Newark Basin), but northwest portions of the borough sit on the Hunterdon Plateau.

Melâs Bagel & Deli is located in the same small strip mall as Pork Chopâs BBQ restaurant. This nice sit down or take-out deli offers a reasonably priced menu of breakfast & lunch items, and of course Maxâs Bagels. For lunch my wife and I ordered a Roast Beef Sloppy Joe that came with chips and sliced pickles. The sandwich was made up of only two slices of bread instead of the normal three you see in a large sloppy, but the bread was fresh, the roast beef rare, it had a lot of flavor and was easier to eat and less messy than those triple deckerâs.

We spotted Lisaâs Deli on a recent trip to Flemington and decided to check it out for a quick lunch. Nice clean looking deli with plenty of tables and a good menu selection. We ended up ordering a Roast Beef Sloppy Joe that turn out large, filled, and fresh tasting. The price was really reasonable compared to most places weâve been to that offers a Roast Beef Sloppy.

Passing by last night and stopped in...so glad we did! We got the frozen ravoli (5 cheese and meat) and some meat sauce. Was it cheap...NO. Was it tasty heck ya! So yummy. They had several kinds of ravoli (10-12 kinds - shrimp, lobster, cheese, sundried tomato and motzarella, chicken, spinach, etc.,), a deli, antipasti, fresh veggie salads, frozen and fresh sauces (meat, Marinara, diablo, puttenesca, etc.) and frozen lazagne, etc. Food made on premesis. Can wait to stop in again!

Very friendly staff! Somehow feels like a hometown welcome when your there. Coffee & scones were delicious! I will stick with just that next time I go for breakfast. I was disappointed with my western omelet. Wasn't a typical omelet, they mixed everything together then fried it to a flat pancake looking thing. If you serve a western omelet, you should offer Salsa. I prefer Theresa's for lunch. But it was nice and quiet.Thank you for your kind review. I am sorry that the omelet was not to your liking, please stop in a again and try us for breakfast.

While driving the back roads of Hunterdon County we recently came across the Stanton General Store which is a really nice Deli/Restaurant that offers a great menu selection of sandwiches, pasta dishes, salads, traditional & gourmet pizzas, and ice cream. You canât miss this place; itâs the only one around.

Incredible place. The food here is amazing, the prices are very reasonable, and the staff that works here is over-the-top GREAT! Little tough to find (it's in a strip mall) but worth the trip.
