Chinese Restaurant. Sushi Bar. The one and only home of Elena Wu, owned and operated by Elena herself. Specializing in a fusion of Chinese and French cuisine and innovative sushi. Dine in. Take out. Catering. Private Events. Located at Voorhees Town Cente
Ate here recently with friends and really enjoyed our meal! We stuck to the Chinese menu but the restaurant offers a huge sushi menu as well. The restaurant was clean, elegant without being stuffy. Our waiter was very friendly and service was prompt. Meals were delicious with good sized portions. Would definitely return and highly recommend!

I love going to Akira for lunch, especially after having a massage next door. They have very good seaweed salad, and great spider rolls and spicy tuna rolls. Service is always friendly.
Some people, me included, may find this place a little strange. The sushi side and the noodle side are separate. You order noodles on a small computer at your table. It tends to feel like a cafeteria although the noodle area has comfortable tables. (This is the old Susana Foo.) The sushi area is more like a bar/cafeteria with seats along the window. You go through a line to order the sushi. I'm a noodle fan (not yet a mavin but trying) and I thought the ramens were excellent. In the U.S. we tend to overload foreign dishes and invent new ones (try to find a Philadelphia Italian hoagie in Italy) and this appears to be the case here. The four standards soups and the appetizers were very good and my rating is based primarily on this. I would like to see more variety in the noodles such as udon but what they have is great. I can't comment on the sushi but they seem to have innovation in mind here. They have a sushi burrito, a sushi cone and poke don. "Don" meaning bowel. This is a mixture of different items on a small bowel. With this variety it may be difficult to focus on the menu on your first visit but it appears to be worth the effort. The late hours on the weekend are probably geared to the movie crowd across the parking lot. There's ample seating and this type of informal place is usually good for small children. Plastic utensils give you an idea of what I mean. They have chopsticks and they give you a larger spoon with the soup.
At the time that we tried out Oki Maki, they were advertising a new Cajun crab boil offering. This all sounds really great! Sushi burritos, ramen, and crab boil all in the same place. My guess is that's it's going to be a challenge to do all of those options well. As for the ramen, I thought it was pretty good; but my sons and my wife didn't like it at all. My oldest son is a picky eater, but he usually does well with ramen. I was disappointed with another part of my order. They offer small plates, kind of like side orders, of poke. I ordered a salmon poke to compliment my ramen. First, it didn't come out with the rest of the order and I had to ask a few times before it finally did. When the poke came out, it wasn't poke; it was salmon tartar. So I showed the server the image on the menu (pictured on a iPad/tablet) and asked her if they were the same thing. While she admitted it wasn't, she explained that they ran out of poke. How can a sushi burrito place that uses cubes of salmon run out of salmon poke? Then she offered to bring the manager over. The manager confirmed that they were out of salmon poke; but then 5 minutes later, brought me out the order. After all that, it wasn't very good. I wish I had canceled that part of the order. I think this Oki Maki is pretty new, and I hope they get better. It's a pretty neat concept and I want it to succeed.
