This is not speedy, but personally, I like that. If you want fast food, go somewhere else. We loved the unusual taste selections and the Lima Bean Chili was delicious. We asked for garlic with our Avocado Toast and âYowza!â Definitely delicious for the garlic lover! We have never had room for dessert, but hopefully, the next time.Thank you for your review! Happy that you enjoyed your food! Eventually you will make it to dessert - I love the cantaloupe gelato (in season).

We ate here twice and were happy both times. It's right in the central pedestrian mall of downtown Cape May and obviously serves lots of tourists, but it is not a "tourist trap". Service was casual but still excellent. My spouse ate clam chowder at three different local places and pronounced Fish Market's to be the best. The crab cakes are excellent and seem to have basically zero filler. Don't expect innovative cuisine here, just good food at fair price.

I chose the Lobster House for lunch on a Thursday as I came into town for my first visit ever to Cape May. I sat at the bar hoping for a quick bite to eat. It was super busy and as I visited the bathroom almost 20 women wearing lanyards with name tags came and formed a line, so I assume some type of tourbus had let out. My husband and I sat at the bar for a few minutes until the overwhelmed bartender had a chance to greet us and see what we wanted to drink. We ordered a couple of Appy's and a lobster melt sandwich. Shrimp cocktail very underwhelming, in size of shrimp and cocktail sauce was weak, flavorless and liquidy / thin. The clams casino were quite the opposite, way too big in size and so rubbery, couldn't even eat them. The lobster melt was OK but I really expected the lobster to be more evident than it was. While sharing our negative experience with friends over the course of the weekend most said you must do the fish market take out versus the restraunt. Sorry, I don't plan to give it another try.

We highly recommend the carriage house for afternoon tea. The selection of tea sandwiches and scones and desserts are always changing and we have never been disappointed. We have been going here for a few years now and whenever my husband asked me where I want to go I always answer the carriage house. We live in Philly and have a house in wildwood and we come here at least twice a month. Cherie is a fabulous waitress. Always with a smile on her face and always ready to please. You will not be disappointed in the carriage house service and selections.
