The service was ok but the food wasn't very good. My wife and me tried to share an appetizer but neither wanted to finish it. The main dishes didn't get any better.

This is a fun, energetic place with good food and good service. It is BYOB so the cost isn't bad. I especially enjoyed the Gnocchi, skirt steak, calamari, and the creme brûlée trio. I would recommend this place for family or friends outings. Order a bunch of plates and share them the cooking is good here.

We had been to this restaurant a few times before and our previous experience was good. This time not so much there were 6 of us and only two really liked their meals. Service was also slow.

This Ridgewood restaurant has the unusual advantage of being in its own freestanding building with its own (small) parking lot! It’s also got the really genius combination of Chinese (and other Asian) food plus ice cream so you get the salty, non-dairy appetizers and entrees that characterize Asian cuisine plus you also get the sweet, cold dairy of interesting ice cream flavors and concoctions for dessert! The decor is self-consciously old timey diner-like and note that there are framed shadow boxes with real vintage toys in them on the walls. Depending on your age, they’ll either remind you of your childhood or be a curiosity. We have been coming here many years. This time one of our favorites, the warm noodle starter, wasn’t as good as it usually is. The noodles had been cut up into two-inch lengths and the sauce wasn’t its usual unctuous thick peanut sauce but rather a smattering of peanut sauce and some separating oily stuff. Not great. The broccoli stem salad was still addictive with its sweet/sour plus ginger flavors. The real star for us always (and thankfully still was this time) is the shrimp fried rice. The shrimp are juicy and perfectly cooked and the rest of the dish is flavorful and not at all greasy. It’s real comfort food.Service was attentive and friendly. We didn’t get dessert this time but I would encourage it if you haven’t done so here.
