After shopping at Sunseng Market, we stopped in for dinner. The interior is nicely redone from when it was Phở 38 and is evocative of Pho Xinh’s décor in Voorhees. We had the quail appetizer which was amazingly delicious and the Bò lá lốt (which is beef wrapped with grape leaves). The beef with grape leaves was good but we both tasted a heavy star anise/5 spice flavor which one of us liked and the other found overpowering. To drink, I had nước dừa or coconut juice which was fresh and delicious and then ordered the bún bò nướng chả giò or grilled beef and spring roll on vermicelli. My dining partner ordered the large Phở Đặc Biệt or beef phở with eye round, flank, brisket, tendon, tripe and beef ball.My bún was delicious and a huge portion, very good. The phở was good – and a huge portion – but again, heavy on the star anise/5 spice flavor and so it was not as enjoyable for my dining partner. The phở is very much in the southern Vietnamese style (as most phở in the US tends to be…) and aside from the heavy star anise/5 spice flavor; the meat and noodles were very good as were the fresh garnishes.I ended the meal with cà phê sữa nóng or Vietnamese style filter (phin) coffee hot with condensed milk and it was excellent. It tasted like a very rich dark chocolaty coffee so very traditional and expertly prepared with Trung Nguyên coffee and Longevity brand condensed milk. While it was delicious, for us, it isn’t worth making a special trip for but if we are in the area or shopping at Sunseng; then it would be a great choice for lunch or dinner.

Very nice atmosphere, personnel, and good food. That is the best part about NJ, FREE PARKING!!! I decided on "Pho Duoi Bo" which is, "Ox Tail Noodle Soup." With all of the fixings, Bean sprouts, Fresh Basil, and Jalapeños. Delicious!! I also had "Cha Gio", which is " Crispy Spring Rolls(4)." My husband had, "Canh Chua Tom" (Sweet & Sour Shrimp) and "Chicken Satay." We both enjoyed our meals and decided to take the food home, because of being full.

The best Vietnamese food in the area! Have not had a bad meal here, ever. BBQ pork is fantastic, pho, vermicelli bowls. Not a fan of the TV thing but they seem to be everywhere these days. Very casual. Always a good value and friendly service.
