When you;re hungry, you want to eat now. Dim sum is a great way to try different dishes without the wait. This is not stuff-your-face food - especially if you eat with chopsticks. The chopsticks will definitely slow you down. That's okay because you want to savor every dish - even if you've had it before. The tea hits the spot. Flavorful. Fresh tea leaves make all the difference. We stuck primarily with non-meat dishes. However, our companions at the shared table got the fried pork cutlets. There were enough pieces to feed 3-4; they were appetizing.I am a big fan of shu-mai. They look like bite size dumplings without a lot of breading. They did not disappoint. The greens are so bright and colorful. The oyster sauce is just right. The big surprise was the hot sauce. It comes in huge gallon plastic bottles. I should have gotten a picture of the bottle. It wasn't too hot and had a sweetness to it.We're are definitely coming back with my son.

My husband and I used to come here at least twice a month. Food was great, employees are nice, and it was very clean for a buffet. Unfortunately we will no longer be patrons of East Star Buffet. We went last night and saw ROACHES. We immediately asked for the check, and the manager came over. She did not speak English. All she kept saying was Upstairs neighbors! Upstairs neighbors! Discount! Discount! ...... She only took off the tax.. Normally I would have fought the bill, but I felt SO sick to my stomach I told my husband to just pay the bill and we left. Where there is 1 roach, there are thousands. We will not be back.

I eat lunch here frequently as their specials are tasty, filling, and good values. I mostly get the soups, like the tan tan which is full of vegetables and meat, you will never finish it since it is huge. I also like the shrimp with garlic sauce or black bean sauce. Something special as an appetizer is the pickled sliced broccoli stems - ask for it - you will not be disappointed. The waitstaff are very pleasant and quick. Love their new location.
