A small comfortable BYOB restaurant. Two couples looking for a casual dinner experience, we narrowed our search to Peasant Grill. It was the smart choice. Bright and inviting with indoor and outdoor dinning opportunities. Efficient and pleasant ordering at the counter followed by excellent meals with attentive staff and a visit from the owners to insure we all enjoyed the experience, Don't know why it took so ling to get here, but warrants a return sooner rather than later. The meals we had included a fresh crispy salad, Eggplant Parm, Lemon basil Chicken, and Vegetable Lasagna.

I'm surprised this cafe has not been reviewed on Trip Advisor before. The food is very good, the decor is pleasant, airy, and light, service is excellent. This is run by a husband and wife team with culinary training. The menu is not extensive, but more than enough choices for lunch (have not had any breakfast options yet). There is steady traffic in and out with people sitting down for their meal and for those taking orders out. Staff was pleasant and friendly. You order at the counter and they bring your food out and clean up after you. Right on Main Street with plenty of free parking. There is free parking in a lot behind the buildings across the street.Prices seem reasonable, especially for Pennington. There are suggested sandwich or panini combinations, but they will make anything you want if they have the ingredients. I have not tried the soup yet, but I have yet to see anyone leave any soup in a bowl, so it must be good. Portions were well sized and I didn't feel I needed to take anything home or leave food there to be thrown out. Background music is muted and you can actually hear your table partners speaking, often unheard of (pun intended) in today's restaurant world. The table tops appear to be made from reclaimed wood -- if true, kudos for sustainability. Dishes, glassware and flatware were all real -- no paper or throw aways here. Emily's Cafe is well worth a visit.
