By the way, it's not just seafood as the Italian name "Pesce" (fish) might imply. They have a varied Italian menu.TIP: This gives you a sense of authentic Greenwich VillageTIP: surrounding Bleecker St. is fun to explore when going to this restaurant. Many of the long time independent restaurants and cafe's in the neighborhood have disappeared. That makes it especially nice to have Trattoria Pesce in the heart of Greenwich Village. It is a small store-front restaurant but it has a lot of charm with cozy lighting and friendly service.

After reading the reviews I had high expectations. The wine recommendations were excellent but the waiter was a bit pushy recommending too much food! We had a seafood/veggie combo appetizer and the Sicilian rice balls. Be prepared for fish and shrimp complete with heads and eyes. My sister did not like her grilled seafood plate, it looked a little too fresh from the sea. The pastas were good but a bit too al dente. Super loud once it fills up, can't really have a conversation. Next time I'll try somewhere else. Cute little place and Spring Street is a fun area for strolling.

We have been fans of Morimoto-san for years, first in Philly and later in his Chelsea Market location. This time we were fortunate to visit during restaurant week. Unlike the earlier reviewer's complaint that it was overpriced, we found the pricing reasonable for the quality ($140 for two, including upgrading to Wagyu beef), particularly when compared to the $800 tab the prior evening at Eleven Madison Park. Both the black cod and the Wagyu steak were outstanding. If I had to pick one, it would be the Wagyu, which was nicely seared and absolutely delicious. Can't wait to return.

We had a reservation at 8 pm but we where seated in a waiting area and offered a drink, which of course we had to pay. When I went to ask at 8:20 to find out about our table, a very unpleasant discussion evolved with a person who said he was the manager. Finally we were seated, food was ok, waiter a bit overwhelming, the bottle of wine we ordered wasnât available so we had to choose for a more expensive one. Overall not a good experience for a usd 300 dólar meal for three.

Canât fault anything.Mussels were extremely good. Nice size and the variety of cook in flavors were really excellent. Had the Thai mussels and wife had the amatriciana. Both were really good and a nice portion. The broth so good, we had it after as a soup! Final part was the donuts, what a treat, beautifully fresh and fluffy. Flavors amazing. Will be back next time we are in NY.

Young hip atmosphere! If I didn't have my children I would have definitely had a martini at the bar, great music and vibe. Grilled octopus salad was the best I ever had. I had lobster with black fettuccini, and I was delicious, no imitation lobster meat. I would definitely go back.
