Pizza done right, and what an assortment. I especially enjoy the white pizza. I can also highly recommend the vegetable lasagna...the take out portion was enough for two meals, the way I eat anyway. I ordered before I left work in downtown Newark and it was ready when I arrived in Springfield.

La Pastaria

While they don't take reservations you rarely need to wait for a table. Outside dining is available. Good southern Italian food. Help is accommodating. Atmosphere is pleasant. Rest rooms are clean. BYO. Both the veal parm platter and veal milanese were very good @ $24.95 each. Parking available behind the restaurant. It's in downtown Summit. Nice place to walk around after dinner.

We ordered from Joe’s and I must add everything was really really delicious! When they first opened under new management they were horrible. I’m not sure if they brought a new chef but everything we have ordered has been a hit! Their bruschetta is the best my office has ever had! Their pizza gets delivered hot! Thank you and keep up the work!Blanca- We are soo happy you came back around after the ownership change and that you were satisfied with your experience. Change never comes easy and we had to weed out what didn't work for us, but we are confident that you'll continue to enjoy your experience with us.Thanks so much for your feedback!

Fiamma Wood Fired Pizza

We were meeting family on a Monday and Fiamma was open. We started with their special balsamic calamari with sausage and peppers. A little too much balsamic but overall tasty. We also shared a caprese salad which was very fresh. We had various individual pizza - pesto, marguerita and a special. I ordered linguini with seafood fra diavolo, which had the right amount of spice. People were friendly and attentive. Nice local restaurant with an interesting menu.

Gian Marco Trattoria

Reviewed By YayeMama

Although the ownership is still the same at Trattoria Gian Marco since my last review in 2014, this place has gone downhill. The menu hasn't really changed in several years' time but the product sure has. We had a romantic dinner for two tonight and were disappointed. The wait staff was very attentive - the waiter came around more than needed to refill our water glass and to ask if everything was ok. However, the food wasn't great. Most tables received Italian bread with dipping oil but we got focaccia at our table. When asked for a bread refill, more focaccia was brought. This was way too filling than regular Italian bread the other patrons in the dining room received. Not sure why our table was different. The stuffed artichoke was really gross - nothing more than gooey cheese in an overcooked large artichoke smothered in brown sauce. We didn't even eat 1/3 of the appetizer and I certainly wouldn't order it again. The Caesar salad was another big disappointment - chopped romaine greens with croutons and caesar dressing from a bottle. How do we know? Not a hint of anything other than bottled salad dressing. I expect more from a $10 salad, especially in an Italian restaurant. I make Caesar salad so I know what the dressing should taste like.My husband had the sun-dried tomato and goat cheese ravioli which were decent but my rigatoni with vodka sauce (a favorite of mine) was smothered to death in the sauce, a real disappointment considering how much I love this dish. There was a lack of pancetta from the meal - not even a single piece.I used to love coming here for Italian, but will now need to find another place. Not what it used to be.

Cioffi's Deli and Pizza

Reviewed By lynx46

I've lived in Springfield for 15 years and somehow missed stopping here - but last week I was yearning for a cheesesteak. Looked up the menu online and found that I could order online for pickup or [from 5 to 8 pm] delivery. Once I read through the choices, I proceeded to load up for a couple of days of sandwiches, salads and desserts. The mushroom cheesesteak was huge and delicious. The Cioffi's Italian sub had a wonderful mix of meats. The chef's salad and Italian salad were fresh and crispy with sufficient dressing. And the tiramisu and raspberry cheesecake were quite yummy. Lots of food for a very reasonable price. Service at pickup was fast and friendly - and there is sufficient parking. I will certainly be back to try all sorts of great looking food.

Saporito Pizza

Reviewed By coachmikec

I really like when a pizza parlor has many different types of slices with lots of different toppings. Saporito to me kind of sets the standard. I love their bruschetta pizza, the butcher boy, and grandma style. Sometimes it seems like the owner is completely angry at the world and really tries to be friendly, I think he's just very overworked. I have had a sandwich or two there and they are OK, but the pizza is really excellent
